Why Pocket Carry Might Not Be the Way You Want to Carry...VIDEO
chadbuddy replied to a topic in Training Discussions
I pocket carry my LCP because its easier than strapping on my glock 22. I know that pocket carry may be slower than an IWB holster but if someone has a gun pointed at me, I'll happily hand over my wallet instead of trying to draw on them. -

I vote to run away too. Im tempted to buy one of the bond arms but I have to keep telling myself that they aren't practical.

I think I waited just shy of 4 weeks. good luck on a quick return

Thanks for the advice. It's still a little too far out for me to start making 10-code flash cards but I plan to before I go to the academy.

I’m planning on applying to Nashville Metro once I graduate in about a year and a half. I got a Glock 22 for both home defense and to practice for the academy and let's face it, shooting is fun. I've been hitting the range pretty hard lately but can you recommend any particular ways I should practice or what types of shooting tests should I anticipate?

Which Carry Weapon ammo round do you prefer?

I don't think snake shot is a good idea, but does anyone carry a frangible round to ensure you don't shoot through someone and hit the person behind them or do you think a JHP is enough? -
Welcome. I've been looking at Ruger revolvers too. Im leaning towards a sp101 because I may want to conceal carry it every now and then.

I wasn't offered a free hug when I was in there today. This was the third time I have shot in their facility and the staff has always been very polite and helpfull to me. Considering the shipping I didn't have to pay, the LCP magazine and butler creek speedloader were at a fair price at Coal Creek. I may end up getting the year membership if I keep going there. -
Dick's Sporting Goods off ceder bluff in Knoxville has a good amount of 380. They hadn't even put it on the shelf when I had them open a case and pull out three boxes for me. They had Winchester white box FMJ 50 for 21.99 and they also had some hollow points for 29.99 per 25.

I went to CCA the other day despite warnings that they were douches. I found them helpful to me and enjoyed the experience. I rented their glock 27 too and it must have had a bad magazine because a few times the slide locked back when there were still rounds in the mag. Not a big deal.. -
The best shooting done with my Ruger 10/22 was with SK rifle Match ammo. My buddy who used to compete, shot 10 shots in an inch group at about 50 yards SK Rifle Match Ammunition 22 Long Rifle 40 Grain Lead Round Nose Box of 50 - MidwayUSA

I didn't know such a thing existed. I kinda want one of the 28s, but it sounds like I can't get one.

I was pretty much oblivious to anything going on. I like the new look though. -

Same here, the pocket pistol is the way I like to go. /end thread hijack I think my HCP instuctor was wrong about this topic. At the time I took the class, it was legal to carry past a ghostbuster sign but he said that it wasn't. Is there still a law about verbal declarations of a gun free zone in a store or diner or does there have to be a sign? -
that's the one you cover up with your thumb when you show people. I got a little wild on that one

Coal Creek Armory in Knoxville had some russian surplus for $21 per 50. Not a great deal but no shipping and it's kinda hard to find. I was kinda upset when I asked for 4 and they said they could only sell me 2. That is, I was upset untill I shot it. Their damn ammo jammed my LCP about once per magazine. I think it was the ammo and not my grip again. I would not trust my life to this ammo but it shot pretty dang accuratly and made for good practice. Anyway, here is one of my targets from today. Standing, indoors, at 7-10 yards. Im not quite good enough to attempt "I Like Pie" 's challenge.

I went on my Wally World Walk today. I couldn't find the official map of the approved route to take so I just kinda browsed by the $5 DVDs, looked at the automotive ailses - grabbing some JB Weld, and the headed straight to the ammo cage. I got a little carried away though; I ended up buying 500 rounds of 40 s&w. Now I guess there is no reason to go to or method to fund a trip to the gun show tommorow.

I have now put about 1000 rounds through my glock and I can already tell a huge difference in my marksmanship. Practice is the only answer, there is no magic pill in life.

congratulations. I got mine in the mail today too.

Since I am ordering some magazines and ammo from them anyway, it won't cost me any more to throw one in my box.

I would never sell the H&R .22 revolver my grandparents owned They aren't handguns but I would also never sell, the Stevens 311a 20 guage shotgun my father and grandfather owned and the ruger 10/22 given to me by a friend who later passed away.
