The Rem 700 thing is real, lawsuits and all. I did a lot of research when I bought mine. AFIK, it's the most popular center fire bolt gun of all time. Years ago, when the lawsuits started, Remington decided to just adjust the trigger for a heavier pull instead of redesigning it. It's possible to adjust them for a lighter pull, but you can only go so far before it becomes unsafe. My solution was to change the trigger group to a better design.
We live in a world that overreacts to any kind of gun incident. There have been several incidents with 700 triggers over the years. It doesn't matter if it's only .00001% of the total number of 700's sold, not to a bedwetter anyway.
Remington should have redesigned that trigger, for their own good, when this all started years ago.
