  1. How are you going to text on the cell phone if you're shifting gears with a manual transmission?
  2. It's easier to conceal than deal with the problems of open carry. I'd pefer to not have a thug aware that I'm armed.
  3. The only problem I've had with a Liberty safe is that it seemed to shrink during the first year. It's full and I need to get a second one.
  4. My Kimber and other 1911s have been reliable, trouble free pistols. The glock and XDs I own are similar in reliability. I'm in Guns and Ammo frequently and haven't seen any reason not to continue doing business with them. The employees have always been polite and professional in their attitudes from my viewpoint.

    Wish glock would

That's usually an operator problem. My Glock, Kahr and XD have yet to produce any extra holes.
  6. No problem - I found the exit door quickly. I'd guess on a different day, I might have had a different impression, but I saw no reason to go back again.
  7. Pushing the limit doesn't seem to have worked very well for kwik. The anti-gun groups are the only ones getting any benefit from actions such as his. Others have open carried without creating negative attention. In our current political setting, it is a better decision for most of us to conceal carry and not draw undue awareness to the issue.
  8. I started reloading 45acp about 40 years ago with a single stage RCBS press and still use it today. I've added a Dillon 550 to the relaoding benchabout 2 years ago. I'd get 1 or more reloading manuals and read them before getting equipment or supplies.
  9. About 12 years ago my wife and I went to a range in Memphis to practice before taking an HCP class. The owner of the range told her she should get a more dependable gun and throw the new AMT in the garbage. He brought a Kahr from the display case and box of ammo into the range for us to shoot. She used my 1911 to qualify, with the highest score in the class. As she thought the 1911 was too large, we bought the Kahr and it's still being used. The attitude of range owner resulted in my use of his range for many years. Some of the employees at local ranges and stores need to use more tact in dealing with customers.
  10. The price of home, weapon or automobile that one chooses to own, is their business. Some of us have no need to attempt to impress others, while some value the ability to think they impress others. The choice to carry my Glock or Wilson Combat pistol is my decision and I don't own anyone an explanation. It is unlikely that anyone would know what or if I choose to carry. If someone thinks I should drive a more expensive vehicle, they are free to give me the money to purchase it, but I probably will be driving the same vehicle the next day.
  11. After shooting a G27 and XD40 several hundred rounds and several trips to the range I found that I shot equally with both. My wife prefers the XD and carrys it daily. The G27 gets frequent carry when I don't carry a 1911. The best choice will be made after handling and firing each of the guns you're considering.
  12. "The 1911 was the design given by God to us through John M. Browning that represents the epitome of what a killing tool needs to be. It was true in 1911 and is true now." --Col. Robert J. Coates, USMC
  13. Hornady Handbook lists CCI 41 primers for the 6.8 spc. Speer Reloading Manual lists CCI 200.
  14. Nice shop - I didn't want to look too close at the toys untill the FFL comes in.
  15. As on several occassions "security" people were involved in stealing or breaking into the vehicles they were being paid to protect, I don't like the idea that they can search (shop) the contents of my property.
  16. A "No Withdrawals Allowed Prior To Account Funds Verification" sign should stop future robberies.
  17. I don't expect Mr. Peck to acquire a permit to carry anytime soon. Hopefully after reporting the daily violence against citizens, eventually, he will realize that he has a duty to protect his family as well as himself. He said we have a responsibility to listen to different viewpoints without demonizing others. I think it's good to see a member of the media show tolerence of other views.
  18. An XD45 stays at my computer desk, a G27 or 1911 is on my belt. Several hounds make anyones presence known if they approach the house or vehicles.
  19. The Henry rifle that I fired was a very nice, accurate rifle. It's made in the US and the quality was excellent. My next .22 will be a Henry.
  20. I never expected the CA to allow an article like this to be published. Mr. Givens gave a perspective the liberals don't hear very often.

    New truck?

I'd keep the truck you have and save for repairs or replacement in the future. I've got 2 SUVs that are paid for and my wife and I will drive them untill they need major repairs, get stolen, or totaled- Memphis. I hated to have the payments, but got a Titan last year and plan to keep it many years.
