Okay, I down at the School For Wayward boys (Ft. Benning, GA, Home of Infantry). walked into a local shop, which had a nice selection BTW, anyways, I was looking at the Kimbers TLE and Custom II, does anyone know the difference between them? The seem to have pretty much the same slide, frame, trigger, hammer, sights, not sure about the internals though.. So if anyone has any insight let me know..

Man, I would love to buy damn it 5.56 isn't getting any cheaper, can't find a .22 conversion kit, and damn my WASR-2 is not that reliable at the moment. can the rounds be reload or do they have to be factory loads?

TNRobocop has Spike's Tactical lowers. He's around here somewhere..
-
Oh no, don't tell me we are going to drink that hk416 kool aid. There's enough of that going around every where else..

Hey, I'll trade you my SA Ultra Compact if that Glock bites you in the ass or leg.. Glocks are very bad you should stay away from them..

I've used Wolf 62gr in my AR, I haven't cleaned it since my last visit to the range last year some time and the previous visits to the range as well, it still goes bang.. might be a little dirty, but nothing that can't be cleaned with some CLP and a rag. Or with shaving cream, tooth brush, and steamy hot water..

Who is the go to AK smith around Nashville?
Joseg replied to Paletiger13's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Any luck with your builds? -
Sure, if you can find one at a decent price. Seems all the 5.45 used to be around 320-400, are now 500-700.. For that price there's not really an advantage, I can still get 7.62 rifles in the 370+ range.. And there's maybe a 30-40 dollar difference on 5.45 and 7.62 surplus if your google-fu is strong..

You know as funny as this may be, this is grounds for an monkey stomp by the whole TGO brethen for even posting something like this.. All in favor, Aye

So has the tools in Middle TN to build an AK? Apparently all the damn 5.45s, that I was interested in are drying up or getting out of hand price wise..

about time slacker..

You are aware that some Serpa(s) have been recalled? I got a Safariland 6004 but I don't think I will be able to use it based on the rules.. So I need to look at options...

I can be in two classes Production (Glock 17) and Single Stack (RIA 1911).. Now about the holsters, which one do you guys use?
-
Fellas, I've been looking over the rules, there's even rules that deal with your clothing? Especially when it comes to BDUs? What if I'm comfortable wearing BDUs? I would like to as well for the Mid TN, but I would like a block of instruction before going out there and looking like a fool. Pretty strict rules & requirements..

I always carry at Hickory Holllow and Opry Mills. and since it's concealed never been asked anything.. Out of sight out of mind... BUt I usually avoid that mall at all cost..

Just wondering if anyone of you have seen, fingered, or own one? I just saw it at Dick's on Saturday.. Specs: 18.5" barrel Mag Extension a picatinny rail mounted LPA front and rear sights (rear is removable) 2.75" and 3" rounds

One that will do what you want it to do. Seriously, Computers are like guns, too many out there, you just got to find one that fights your need. I personally buy HP laptops (Compaqs under the HP logo) and buy eMachines Desktops (I can upgrade the hardware).. I've never paid more than 500 for a desktop and I usually uninstall all the unwanted crap that they come with.. dell = Glock? :puke:You are kidding right? My glock goes bang every time I pull the trigger, the dell will probably die before my glock does..

I carry a Glock 17, I just drank the kool-aid and stayed with it. No seriously, I had a 19 first, the problems I had with it was the rubbing of my middle finger with the frame (should have taken a sandpaper to it), the pinky being half way on the frame, and my big hand. I decided to go with the 17, yes it's a little bigger but, It's manageable and feels like a natural extension of my hand. At the time, the options on the market were suitable for me. I shot the XDs and came out with a sore thumb after 50 rnds, the SW M&Ps weren't out on the market, and the HK/SIG/1911 were out of my price range. I currently looking for a 23 or a holster for the SA Ultra Compact that I have to use as my everyday carry and use my 17 for training/whatever.

+1, is this why there's no .223 at the Wally world in Smryna? Could you stop hording it all.. geez.. Actually I can't stand buying ammo at that stores stupid kids behind the counter want to give me crap over it.. bro, if the 92 is Italian made, don't do it, GI issue one, trade it.

Hmm, I might be interested as well, but then again. how about one of the small mallets used on fish? I'm sure I can throw in a rod and reel and some fishing lures..

Okay, I've never taken a class and my experience is just from reading and trying it out on my own. I have tried the Israeli carry (just to try it out), but instead of sideways, what I did was when coming forward, I pulled back on the slide and release once the round was in the chamber, by then the pistol will be up and lined up with the target. It's a viable solution (my .02 cents). It's a technique and if practiced several times, you could quite possibly do it so fast that you won't even notice the slide racking..

Welcome, I agree with what has been said already, I might also suggest you take a look at this: http://tnmap.state.tn.us/sor/ . That's the TN sex offender search, you might want to use that.. Best thing I would do now, would be take the class, submit your paperwor since it takes time, and continue looking for a handgun that fits you and you are comfortable with.. There's a few females on this board that if you need more a gurls touch, could probably help you out.

I've got two 1911s one that is the RIA Govt and a SA Ultra Compact, to be honest, I prefer to shoot my RIA a lot more, it might be cheap, made overseas, but it goes bang everytime I pull the trigger. RIAs to me is like an entry gun that is well made, is not as sloppy (sorry for not using the gun term) as some of the other 1911s I have looked at. But I see handguns as a tool, an extension of your body, it doesn't mean a thing if you don't probably know how to put rounds on target. So if you have a 200 dollar pistol to a 2500 dollar safe queen/high end, if you can't place rounds on the target, it won't mean a thing..
