  1. I have been trying the XL Wilson Combat module for a few days. The beavertail appears longer but it really is about the same length. The straight backstrap makes the beavertail hit the top of my hand in about the same spot. The magwell is a slight bit more funneled. The stippling is about perfect. Overall I’m satisfied.
  2. I have the 9mm Range Officer Champion, and I love it. It’s hard to pass on this one at pre-Covid pricing. I’m pretty sure these have been discontinued.

    Glock 45

It takes any 9mm magazine a 17 will take; 17 plus.

    Glock 45

The model 45 has become a favorite amongst LEOs all over the country. I have been on ranges with many people who say they shoot the 45 better than a 17 and 19.
  5. The four piece Lee dies are $60 in stock with free shipping at Midwayusa.
  6. Someone did the math, but the rule of thumb is 1k handgun loads per pound. You probably use twice as much of the same powder with 45 Colt verses 25, 32, or even 380. Obviously, there are a lot of factors with charge, caliber, and powder brand, but powder is the cheapest material when loading anyway.
  7. In a Glock 20 I never found the recoil to be brutal but the dual recoil spring may absorb a little recoil compared to a gen 3. However, the gen 3 Glock 20SF was a favorite of my wife years ago. I don’t believe I have ever shot a 29.
  8. I have owned a Colt that was out of time. I have actually owned two but one still fired despite the timing concern. I even spotted one in a shop that I was considering just to find out it had timing issues. Contrary to popular belief, it does not take a Colt armorer to fix a timing issue. Any revolver savvy gunsmith can fix it. Truthfully, if you want a six shooter for carry find a Charter Police Undercover, Taurus, or new Colt. All of this assuming a Ruger or Smith is too large for you.
  9. The internal lock on Taurus, LCRs, and Springfield 1911s will not lockup under recoil like a S&W revolver will. I like my LCR but I still like my Smiths and Colt better. The LCR shines with 22, 327, and 9mm because I can’t afford a a Smith in those calibers.
  10. It’s nice to have options. I do like the nickel case. It’s only 10% faster than the 40 grain CCI Velocitor though.

    Shield plus

I have not shot a Shield Plus but I have handled one. The grip of the Shield Plus is only slightly thicker than the 1.0 or 2.0. Such a shuttle difference I believe S&W should discontinue the regular Shields.
  12. If you are doing it because you love a particular breed of dog it’s okay. If your doing it in hopes of making some money you will probably better off picking up aluminum cans to recycle. Some of my close friends did Yorkies for a couple of years and gave it up. Another friend of mine has breed dogs for thirty years and apparently does okay. He started with Jack Russels and has done Great Danes for a couple of decades.
  13. Get the optic and see for yourself. A few of the people I have consulted with years of use with red dots on pistols now say they wouldn’t have an issue running a reputable red dot without iron sights. I’m not seeing a ton of night sights with optics. I see some blacked out sight and some fiber optic fronts.
  14. The Glock 20 is an awesome 10mm. Actually, Glock is a wonderful platform for the 10mm with the 29, 20, and 40. I know a few people that hate Glocks but own a 20 because it is such an awesome 10mm. I had a 20 about 10 years ago and sold it to a good friend. I meant to immediately replace it with a 20 or a 40 if they went into production but ultimately went to a 1911 in 10mm and then a revolver in 10mm. For capacity, reliability, durability, and price the Glock 20, 29, 40 really cant be beat.
  15. Thanks. I shared this with my friend. It represents about what we suspected. I think it’s safe to say about 20% of adults in the US have tried CBD products and about 10% of adults will use it on a semi-regular basis.
  16. What are the first three letters of the serial number? Around 2014, there were a bunch of new 432 showing up on online retailers. I didn’t recall seeing one on a shelf anywhere. I passed at ordering one because of the lock. I wished that I would have bought one. It’s hard to say if they had been hanging around for ten years or if S&W did another short run like they often will do.
  17. Thanks for those taking the time to vote in this poll. The background is a friend, with a business selling CBD products among other items, is wondering why his sales have decreased 60% in the last two years. We are trying to evaluate if the industry is over saturated.
  18. I tried to make a poll but it keeps giving me an error. A friend asked me to take surveys of random groups concerning the average Joe’s CBD lifestyle. What are your CBD habits? 1. I do not buy CBD products and I never will? 2. I tried CBD but it is old news. 3. I still buy CBD products. 4. I tried CBD products but I have moved to products with THC.
  19. I need an early 686 rebarreled. The factory will not do it because they are backed up on warranty work. I have a factory new barrel already. Can anyone recommend a gunsmith, they don’t have to be in state, that can rebarrel a 686 and not spring the frame?
  20. No, I have to use a paper clip or bobby-pin.
  21. This is my 9mm Champion which should have the exact upper as yours.
  22. Both of mine look like the bottom example. I really thought the double spring was for the 40 and 45 while the single was for the 9mm.
  23. I believe what Res308 is describing is the factory guide rod and spring. I thought the Wilson wouldn’t fit the Springfield anyway but I may be mistaken.
  24. I have the Springfield Range Officer Champion, and I actually like it a lot.
