  1. You might consider a vent rib barrel. Add aftermarket sights that attach to the rib. Or just a hi viz bead. The Remington factory magazines extensions are about 3/4 of an inch longer than the aftermarket. A 2 shot factory extension would go beyond a 18" barrel. The aftermarket extensions ( I like Choate) don't have that extra length and will come out even with a 18" barrel I never cut a barrel shorter than 18 1/2 inches. Gives you something to work with if the crown is not right and even a moron can tell it's not shorter than legal length. Consider a 20" barrel and 3 shot extension.
  2. Converted Saiga, Yugo, Chicom
  3. Everyone should have at least one and a thousand rounds if for no other reason than Obama and the Libs don't want you to have it. What are they so afraid of? NICE RIFLE !!
  4. Not all Century AKs are the same. My Yugos built on a DCI 1.6mm receivers are excellent. Even the WASRs usually work but many have canted sights. I've built Romanian kits on NoDac Spud receivers that are great. Hard to find good kits now for $300 or less. If you can find a good kit, get a NDS receiver. You can do a "screw build" very easily - no special tools, just drill and tap. I believe the Saiga is the best deal out there if you can find them for $400 or so. Another $100 in parts, a little work and you have a Russian made AK

    10/22 project help

Maybe you could paint it and do some woodgrain with a darker color.
  10. Ruger 300 WM. OK, it's more my Elk rifle, but it will work for deer.
  11. I've had good luck with Truglo. I like mounts that allow me to see the iron sights at the same time (just in case)
  12. Nice !! Did you leave room to mount a GPS and Sat phone?
  13. Nice AK. How's it shoot?
  14. Nice. The trick is spotting the deer a mile away !!
  15. Too many moving parts. I'll stick with a 1911.
  16. Cool, there was a time when we had to be able to that blindfolded. Not sure I could do it now.

    Kel-Tec PLR16 ??

Have one and love it. Perfect truck gun! Fits in a soft case made for a laptop.
  18. It can be done without the tool but you need an extra hand. The only trick is to hold the extractor spring (and it's tiny plunger) back or compressed while installing the extractor. Garufa, I have the tool, contact me and I'll give you a hand.
  19. Check the NRA website for a list of schools. I believe there is one in NC.
