  1. Gun and Military show. 300 vender spots. This should be a bigger show than anything in Knoxville. http://www.blackdoggunrange.com/events.htm
  2. I'll be there. Hilam TN http://www.gunshows-...negun shoot.htm
  3. Do you also square the barrel extension with the bore?
  4. NRA GUN SAFETY RULES link NRA Gun Safety Rules
  5. Really? How about a link or two? Surely if it's all over the internet it must be true.
  6. Smoky Mountain Gun Collectors Association Show @ 6700 Jubilee Center Way Knoxville, TN 37912
  7. Did it come with the box, owners manual etc? Did it appear to have ever been used? Made in '93 - does it have a trigger lock? It would be a plus to me to not have that. Honestly, what difference does it make? It's a shotgun, not a used car. Take care of it and your grandchildren will be using it.
  8. I went in 1990 so I can't relate anything about how the school is now. I won't tell you anything about RT. The instructors there are top notch, just pay attention and learn. As for boots, it was winter when I went. The instructors in the field all wore Danner Fort Lewis boots. I used my hunting boots (dyed black) and was fine even in 10 below zero. I later bought a pair of Danners. I have used those in Antarctica in 50 below. I took a Ka-Bar and it worked well for all the field chores. Good luck.
  9. Super glue. The thin stuff will penetrate into the crack.
  10. A bipod on a shotgun ? Before spending big bucks on a recoil reducing stock, you might want to try a better recoil pad or lighter loads. Man up - it doesn't kick that bad.
  11. Gunbroker.com Auction # 217018783
  12. Not a problem as long as it is still at least 26" in overall length.
  13. Do you need a 12 ga or a 20 ga stock. I have both.
  14. Around $200, a little more if the barrel is rifled.
  15. Take it to a Gunsmith. If it's a Mark X, a Mauser 98 bolt can be fitted to it. Headspace MUST be checked !!
  16. I requested to go in the Winter, I don't like bugs and mud.
  17. I went in February more than 20 years ago. Chest deep snow in the moutains !
  18. I have had great results with their products. Have a few ARs with their barrels (or complete uppers) in 223 and 308. Ordered a 20" 308 upper July 25th. Called last week to check on it. UPS will deliver Fri. Pays to call them. BTW - they said 10% discount for Military and free shipping. Good luck with your rifle !
  19. The 1916 is a small ring Mauser action. Small ring Mauser actions are not strong enough for the pressure of 308. I have owned a couple of these and loaded reduced loads for them.
  20. It would be difficult to find one rifle to do it all. Maybe a semi 308? I would go with an AR and a bolt action rifle. AR will cover SD and competition. Bolt action will cover target and hunting. Your budget would cover both with the optics. Maybe save some for a shotgun! Shotgun is an excellent SD choice. Good Luck !
  21. Depends, is it a screw in choke like a Remchoke? If so, just replace it with a tube. They are available from cyl bore to extra full.
