  1. The Symantec 2013 360 that I am using on my desktop and laptops isn't the resource hog that the older programs were has been my experience. I was using AVG and the free stuff along with Zonealarm Security Suite at different times but I switched to Norton last year around Black Friday. It was free after rebate and has worked to my satisfaction and I have had computers for years. I agree with the older programs being resource hogs and hard to uninstall without Symantec's uninstall program to clean most traces.
  2. I am using Lake City brass, WW small rifle primers, and 55 grain Sierra Spitzer (seconds) but I weighed all bullets to make sure they were close to same weight.  I shot a ladder load of Varget from 25.0 to 27.0 and the 27.0 load was the most accurate with a low standard deviation and approximately 3000 fps.  Sierra's latest reloading manual shows 27.2 grains of Varget to be a max load but as Dolomite said you can't get enough Varget in the case to cause problems.  I was using a Sig M400 with 16" Barrel for the testing.  I am going to use the Varget until I can find some CFE223 to try.    I also shot ladder loads of H335, IMR 4895, IMR 4064, IMR 3031, IMR 4320.  All mentioned powder showed potential but velocity was low on some powder throughout the load.  I was using a Oehler 33 chronograph to record info.
  3. I toured the Sierra Bullet factory in Sedalia, MO a couple of years ago and part of the tour was the tunnel where they shoot the bullets from a lot number for accuracy. They use a stationary Universal receiver and change barrels depending on the caliber. I got to watch as they fired a group for accuracy and I asked about barrel life. The tech said for the most part they got about 3500 rounds through the barrels before they got a flier and had to replace the barrel. I didn't ask about the amount of powder used but doubt they load light. I would think they use the accuracy load listed in the Sierra manual but could be wrong.
  4. If you boot from the cd it should be fairly simple to choose the next step you can't hurt the operating system at this point, it is down for the count it is hard to troubleshoot long distance unless you did it yesterday on the same system. SORRY!
  5. I think you are correct in having to re-install the program the way it seems. Don't forget to install the motherboard drivers after you finish installing windows They drivers should be available to download from MSI website if your disk isn't current. Windows updates will probably have plenty of updates also. Good luck and I am sorry last known config didn't work that one has solved lots of problems.
  6. Try the "last known good configuration" after hitting F8 and pray it works
  7. Thanks for the tip Dolomite on the lanolin case lube. I usually just run a RCBS round brush down the neck and pull it out. This stops the noise (crunch) when you size the case. I shot mostly bolt rifles in the past but finally got a Sig AR. I shoot it more than the Remington bolt rifles so I didn't need bulk case lube. I stuck a case in a .22-250 die and had to buy a stuck case remover. Once was enough.
  8. I use this Lee Product to lube cases. I put a small amount on my finger then coat the outside wall of the case being careful to not get any of the neck or base. If you don't have a tumbler or vibratory unit the Lee case lube will wipe off with a rag but a cheap tumbler or vibratory cleaner is better. There are other case lube if you shop around but one tube of Lee will lube a lot of cases. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/482023/lee-case-sizing-lube-2-oz-tube
  9. The Lyman 49th Edition Manual as you stated above shows 2.015 and the trim to length of 2.005.  If it were my brass and I planned to reload the cases I would trim them.  Without a chamber cast I couldn't answer whether the cases are too long to cause excess pressure.
  10.   Yes, stop and get some good food next time you are though this area.  They have one at Ozark, Mo north of Branson on 65 and Foley, Alabama.    My cousin from Dallas, TX and our wives had dinner at Ozark while visiting Branson, MO for a few days.  The food was very good and more than we could eat.   My wife and I get orders to go a lot but don't stand in line to eat in the dining room.  It is packed on most weekends.
  11. I guess we don't have voles in SE Missouri, only moles AFAIK
  12. To rid the moles get rid of what they are eating.  We use chemical in spring and fall to kill the grub worms.  No moles if you have no food for them had been my experience.
  13. Some powder is hard to find. I looked for .223 powder in St Louis, Kansas City area, Springfield, Mo area 2 weeks ago but came home with none. I was able to find Sierra Bullets at the "Sierra Factory Outlet" in Sedalia, Mo. If any of you are in the area and have time the tour of the Sierra bullet factory is free and interesting. The factory outlet sells seconds by the pound and pricing is on Sierra's web site but they don't ship. Good luck finding a load you like for your rifle.
  14. 7mm-08 Remington Model 7 with 140 grain Sierra Spitzer # 1910 Pro Hunter using IMR 4064 produced good results.  Approximately 3000 fps using Oehler 33 chronograph with near maximum load.  This was the only load we tested for deer hunting.  This combo has taken several whitetails.....
  15. I have to drive across the southern tip of Illinois between the Miss. River and Ohio River bridges to get to Paducah, KY or Tennessee without adding lots of miles to my trip.  I have family in Smyrna and Manchester and visit fairly often.  I agree on NY and CA but have family in Illinois but don't visit very often.  Not having to disarm before the border of Illinois will make the trip more pleasant.
  16. That is correct.... HB0183 that passed July 9, 2013 (link below) changed things for non-residents that can legally carry in their home state.  You can carry concealed in Illinois but you can't get out of the car with the weapon on your person.  It must be locked in the glove compartment, console, etc. or lock the doors of the automobile.  http://www.ilga.gov/...DF/098-0063.pdf   This FAQ's on the Illinois web site also address the issue at this link: http://www.isp.state...ccw/ccw-faq.cfm Are out-of-state Concealed Carry permit holders granted reciprocity in Illinois? No. Out-of-state residents who want to carry a concealed firearm on his/her person must obtain an Illinois Concealed Carry License to lawfully carry a concealed firearm in Illinois. In order for out-of-state residents to be eligible for an Illinois license, their state’s concealed carry license laws must be substantially similar to those of Illinois. The Illinois State Police will establish rules to identify the elements necessary to meet the substantially similar requirement. However, out of state residents are granted a limited exception to lawfully carry a concealed firearm within a vehicle if they are eligible to carry a firearm in public under the laws of his or her state or territory of residence and are not prohibited from owning or possessing a firearm under federal law. This rule becomes effective immediately. If the non-resident leaves his/her vehicle unattended, he or she shall store the firearm within a locked vehicle or locked container within the vehicle in accordance with subsection ( B) of Section 65 of the Firearm Concealed Carry Act.
  17. Medicare wouldn't cover the shot for me.  My Family Dr. gave me a prescription and I bought the serum at Super D for $100 and he administered the shot.  I have a drug plan but it didn't cover the shingle serum.

  19. I am using a EA4500 Linksys which is the "N" technology with good results.  I purchased the router at the Cisco Store and they give 30 day money back guarantee if you aren't satisfied.  This was important to me as it was new technology when I made the purchase.  Check the link below for new and refurbished.  I bought a refurb EA4500 to use at Church and it has performed flawless for a lot less than the new unit.    http://store.linksys.com/products/specials-deals-offers-cisco-store_stcVVcatId552218VVviewcat.htm
