I was just at Chickasaw State Park this weekend. It has a tent-only area. The campsites were good and well spaced so you're not on top of your neighbor. Better spacing than at Mouse Tail Landing S.P. The bathhouse (toilets and showers) get a C-. They are in need of upgrading and were not particularly clean. Hiking in the park is limited, but it's adjacent to Chickasaw State Forest with lots of trails. A plus is that they have horse-back riding available. It's not available in many other parks and can be a nice break from regular trail hiking. Frozen Head State Park is in east TN. About 200yards away from the regular RV/tent camp area is a primitive tent only area. It just has a portable toilet, but like I said, 200 yards away to the main site with a very well maintained and regularly cleaned bathhouse. The tent-only area is setup along a creek bank. It's awesome, and not too busy except for long weekends like Labor Day.

Thanks. It's 39-17-1311. I was searching Lexis for "state parks" and didn't find it. I see in 39-17-1359 ( f) that it doesn't apply to state parks and that they are governed by -1311, so that confirms that even the gunbuster signs are not applicable in state parks.

They're supposed to replace them as needed and not have the "No firearms" part any longer. I just returned from Chickasaw S.P.. they have the "No firearms" at the front entrance, so that's a no-brainer to carry past. The entrance to each of the 3 camping areas has a "no firearms" AND a gunbuster. Can someone cite the law that says carry is OK in State Parks? If not, I suspect that gunbuster would still apply.

Like peejman said, State Parks are good to go. The law was revised a few years ago to make them that way, but there was no money alloted to remake the signs, so the SPs are allowed to keep them up until time to replace them. Just ignore that part and carry on. National Parks are good to go except for any building that is posted or where a park employee (not just any old contractor like most gift shops/snack bars) is a regular fixture. They're pretty consistent with their postings though, so just look for the gunbuster. National Forest land is good to go. Other federal property (TVA, Corps of Engineers, etc.) is officially a no-go, but there is some fluidity in how the agency in charge chooses to enforce that (loosely in some cases, stringently in others).

It's just my opinion, but I bet if you're in a non-metro city, either the city police chief or the county sheriff would be fine. Especially with a C&R. BATFE might be more particular/meticulous in checking on Class-3 items. If you're in the county, it's definitely the county sheriff. You could always call the city PD and ask if they want it, or for it to go to the sheriff.

I have also heard what bkelm said. County Sheriff unless it's a combined metro government. Then it's the Chief of Police.

Another vote for D&T. Then you can drive 10 min up the road to G&L Hendersonville for some quality time getting to know one another.

Except if it's in your vehicle. Then an HCP allows it to be loaded, but not one in the chamber. HCP does not allow walking around with a long gun.

Square reads the card data and converts it to an audio signal that is not encrypted. The app reads the data and does its thing. Well, it's not hard to read that data with a different app and you then have all the card data in plain text. You can also reverse the direction and have an app on a second device that outputs stolen card data into an audio signal via a basic 3.5mm cable into the device running the square app and you can run charges on a card that you don't have physical possession of. The new square devices are black (old are white) and do encrypt, but it's not as robust as it really needs to be. The risk isn't for the vendor using a square reader, but for the card holder. Never let someone swipe your card through a white square reader. There are other brands that are encrypted and are also white.

Add $25 to the online price for Tax/TICS and add sales tax to the LGS price then decide if the difference is worth the convenience and speed of the LGS. If not, go on-line. Don't forget to factor in other "perks" that an LGS can offer. GnL for example gives a range pass with every gun purchase. That's worth about $10, IIRC, and can close the gap between them and on-line. Other shops may offer similar or other services.

Just because it's stuffed now doesn't mean the meat wasn't eaten when the animal was taken. How many TN hunters have deer heads or racks mounted some place? I don't see it as any different since plains zebra are not an endangered or threatened species. As for poachers, they could never ever get enough of what's coming to them, in my book.

I've seen him about an hour before sunset walking about 20-40 feet from the shoulder of a roadway parallel with the road. There were horses in the area. He didn't get too close to them, so I don't know if he would have spooked them if he had.

How long do we have to wait for the rest of the season? At least we'll soon have The Walking Dead to pass the time.
