I'm not an expert, but this has the best trigger I've ever felt. I wouldn't waste the money on a trigger kit for it because it's really light. It eats everything, and a bore snake makes for easy cleaning. I love it.

Actually, the ones who created this mess (FDR and company) are dust now. There are no easy answers. Around the year 2000, I actually thought I'd be able to retire with my 401K. The recession of that spring, followed by 9-11, then the collapse of 2007 altered that. Like so many others in my age bracket, we lost our jobs, our houses are worth tens of thousands less, and college tuition is up 50% since 2001. Whoever is pulling the strings, would you please stop?

All of the country's entitlement programs are going to collapse. I'm scared of the idea of health care costs when I retire. I'm not counting on SS or Medicare either.

It has to do with military funding. This is not the time to stop funding the military. Getting rid of waste and faulty weapons systems like the F-35 is necessary. Building more ships, tanks, and planes is vital. If the US gets into a shooting war with China or a united Arab state, Americans will be outnumber and must rely on our technology to kick their ass. There is nothing stopping OPEC from raising prices right now that will lead to chaos.

Gas prices have gone up over 50 cents a gallon since Mubarak was forced from power. How are you going to feel when gasoline rises to $4+ per gallon? The environmental movement has stopped all domestic exploration and production. There hasn't been a new refinery built in the US for over 20 years. You fail to see a problem???

This was actually an idea being tossed out by Indiana governor Mitch Daniels. If you can think of any ways to fix the system, please feel free to speak up.

The best thing to do with Social Security is to put a limit on your ability to draw according to your net worth. For example, if you're a millionaire over 65 you shouldn't be able to draw from Social Security. It's not fair, but it's a possible solution. It will not "fix" the system, but it would help tremendously. Defense spending should NOT be cut. There is major trouble brewing in the world. Look at the Muslim countries rising up for "democracy". Where did all of the Muslims get AKs while living under a dictator? China is continually building weapons and even the Russians are starting to get into the act. With all of our economic problems brewing, we MUST be able to defend ourselves. I would encourage everyone to read Broke by Glenn Beck. These problems in our country have been going on for 100 years. Every politician is guilty of raping us.

Your experience sounds very similar to mine. I have a XD 9 service model and I bought a Springer kit last week. I like the shorter travel and reset on the trigger, but was disappointed the trigger wasn't lighter. I didn't really notice too much difference in trigger pull after installing the kit. My XD 45 did not need a better trigger, it was pretty good from the factory. My Mark III doesn't need a kit, but I was hoping for a trigger like it. I'm not planning on getting rid of my XDs as of now. I just want a lighter trigger pull and a few million dollars, while I'm dreaming.

If you like the XDs you could also look at the XD 45 Tactical Compact, or an XDM 45. Just go ahead and buy them all!!! You know you could have a different one for every day of the week.

The best place to buy or look at a Rock Island is Bellshire Hardware on Dickerson Road in Madison. He sells the Tactical on Gunbroker for $430.

I'm not a 1911 owner and would love to be, but for $600 you could buy a Rock Island Match. It's a worth a look.

This is the best advice you can get. I would add to stop into a Wal-Mart or similar store and look at ammo prices too. It might help to narrow it down due to the price of ammo. There are tons of choices. Good luck with your decision.
