  1. Right now, I am still waiting to find out if I am getting the day of class off at work. I am pretty sure my Boss is anti gun, hell he seems anti anything fun. So I didnt' tell him why I wanted a day off, I just ask for the day off a month in advance, I will probably get it. The instructor knows my situation and how I almost took his class last year and why I didn't get to, he told me even if I am late in finding out He will do his best to work me in. I should know this week if I have my day off and a spot in the class. BTW, with what I am reading here and what I have been reading on my own, I am not worried about the class. I do expect to learn some things that I have not come across yet and to pick up some good information.
  2. I like seeing the break down. I knew it was 48 shots. I knew I was actually allowed to miss quite a few. I don't want to miss any during the test. A year ago when I first decided to take the class, I was a bit cocky when the instructer talked about every class he awards a engraved 50 cal bullet prize for best shooter, I joked I would get it. Now, a year later after spending some time with the pistol, I feel I will hit my target but I will probably be up against better marksman/women, and I am ok with that. Right now, I will be happy to step up to the mark, put 48 in the black, hopefully all inside the 8 ring or better . I don't want to just pass, I want to do the best I can.
  3. Man if you where in Oak Ridge I could turn you on to a local company I have used twice. I have no more dangerous tress in my yard thanks to them. However you are a bit far.
  4. Yup, I plan to start putting in allot of practice soon when I get my HCP.
  5. I looked up the distances, 3 yards, 7 yards and 15 yards. I had practices the most about 7-10 over the past year before I knew, so the past couple times I went I mostly shot at 15 yards. Not yesterday but the time before I pulled in to 3 yards and 7 yards and well i felt I was close I only used 6 rounds at 3 yards and 12 at 7, I did good at those short shots. I was more concerned at 15 yards which this whole target was.
  6. cool, the guy i am going to take the class with loves to show a target with the center destoried but I tell myself, he owns a gun store, probably shoots every other day. Myself, I shot rifles from 5 to 18, went to college, barely shoot anything from 18 to 34, for the past year I have been off and on shooting Dad's pistol getting ready. Truth be told, I have only had time to go about 5 times or so to practice. I plan to get in at least 2 more practice sessions before the class. When I picked up his pistol last year, I had to get used to it's safety, how all the features work on it, as it is a mark one, the chamber closes after the last round, etc. Now, I feel good with his, but I want my own Mark 3 now.
  7. I should add, I was using a 35 year old 22 Ruger, notice the thing is as old as me. I am going to buy a new one for a target practice gun when I have the extra money soon, and I have a 38 speical for carry when I get my HCP.
  8. Been shooting at a B-27 at 15 yards yesterday with the pistol I plan to test with. I did about 150 rounds, I know I am not a Marksman with a pistol like most everyone here. I still say for Marksman ship give me a rifle but I feel the B-27 would not have been a threat after I was down. Let me know any reason this would not pass? I am going to get this out now, the FAR Left out side the 7, Dad did that as a very first shot, as soon as we got set up, the only shot he took. The very far Right outside the 7, well, I knew it when I did it, I pulled off bad. The rest was all me, no excuses.
  9. +10 Sounds like mine kind of Church. however I am 2 far from Nashville.
  10. One thing, even if you know a place, it is so easy for a business to put up a simple sign now, you have to check on each visit. Heck, what if you go in, and they post after you enter. It would be your work against theirs as to when it became posted.
  11. to quote a dirty harry movie, "When a naked man is chasing a woman through an alley with a butcher knife and a hard-on, I figure he isn't out collecting for the Red Cross."
  12. well, you might have to sue the other driver in small claim court for your lose time, then they would have a choice to pay or ask their insurance to pay probably, assuming you win.
  13. to Make my above statement more clear, left side, right side. I am talking about 2 different door ways.
  14. even in that example "Maybe he had just gotten robbed and was a HCP holder for example. " Use of deadly force in TN is not justification to protect property, only life and lmb. http://www.lesjones.com/2003/09/23/tennessee-handgun-carry-permits-part-i/ You cannot use deadly force to protect property. If they’re stealing a hubcap they’re not a threat to life or limb. Deadly force and criminal law You can use deadly force to prevent death or serious injury to yourself or a third party. Beware of blundering into a scene and making a split-second decision as to who’s the good guy and who’s the bad guy. You could shoot the guy with the gun, only to find out he’s an undercover cop, or another armed citizen like yourself.
  15. even that video has some audio muted as well. I hope his video was recording from his car as well.
  16. It is the Local Oak Ridge movie theater Tinselltown. On the left side, near the ticket booth there is a sign, but on the right sign it is on an angle 90 degree angle to both the door and the ticket booth. Why they decided to place the one on that side in a pretty much hidden place is beyond me. Also, most of the day time, the ticket booth is not even used, as when they are not busy it is unmanned and you have to go to the concession stand to buy your ticket which means you would not have went by the ticket booth. They do not have sings on their doors, only the 2 on their ticket booths, one is is an semi ok place, other mostly hidden.

    Health care?????

The Media can only cover one event at a time, right now it is BP.
  18. "Either form of notice used shall be of a size that is plainly visible to the average person entering the building, property, or portion of the building or property, posted." I wonder if I feel a business posted but not clearly if I should ask to speak with a manager about it( unarmed of course). I know a business that has 2 front doors, Left door is marked ok, but the right door a big off from it I was looking and lookig could not find it, finally found the sign on the side of the wall pretty well hidden. It makes me mad that if they are going to post but then try to hid the signs. I think they should have a legally required sign of set size and it sould have to be on the door, we should not have to play hide and seek looking for the dam things.
  19. /joke on a Real tennessean would never hit a woman, unless she starts it. /joke off She was wrong, the video showed it. Her momma should have taught her the difference between a minor jwalking(traffic ticket), misdemeanor, and felony assault. Now our legal system will have to do it for her.
  20. Dam, you had been checking the door, I even called my wife over trying to find it. Question, for a posting to be Legal does it have to be on the door or just near a door? I know some places that I would question if the posting is legal because of placement.
  21. Am I blind, I am not finding the no gun on that door. Perhaps I am having Serious trouble with the anything goes posting. Maybe it is code like in college, If there is a sock on the door knob don't knock or coming in.
  22. Here is a Sign you will never see. Maybe this making up for the Hooters Jokes from yesterday.
  23. It does Suck he lost 2 weeks pay for an accident for which he was not at fault. However, hate to say it but had he been injuried they would have had to pay medical bills and probably be forced to pay Lost wages for being unable to work.
  24. I think we need an app for Posted, areas, so we can be warned when we are near a known posted area and better year HCP friendly areas.
