  1. I agree. But let's say if the sign was only $5 by the time you multiply that for every state park in the entire state, the sum is large enough for some to say they are Pro-2A, but fiscal impact on the state is too great and vote against it. That is what has happened in years past anyway, thus the express language of not changing signs in this bill.
  2. It remains a no carry place for those that do not have a HCP. If you have HCP you can carry in a state park even if it is posted.
  3. Welcome
  4. Welcome
  5. Not to my knowledge. But at the same time, seems like every mayor in the the town I grew up in had some type of "police id/card" given to him by the chief.
  6. Best I can tell.....anything that was off limits per 39-17-1311 on a state level is now legal if you have a HCP.
  7. Dave.....just when I think you and I are drifting apart on our thinking...you post something like this....
  8. I've got a great pair of Carhart coveralls.....sounds like a ride...
  9. I understand....lol When I was in Houston a couple of years ago I did see an actual 30.06 sign at a nursing home. There was no mistaking what it was and it was VERY EASY to notice. In fact I wish TN posting notices were more like TX 30.06 signs as far as wording and size. You really shouldn't have to worry about whether a posting meets the legal requirements of 39-17-1359 or not...especially since violation is a criminal act.
  10. AFAIK and according to Handgunlaw.us carry in restaurants that serve alcohol is legal in Texas. However any place that gets 51% or more of it's income from the sale of alcoholic beverages is off-limits. It does says that public and private property owners (that aren't already off-limits by statute and a few that are) are required to post a 30.06 sign to prohibit carry. So long story short to answer your question, unless the restaurant has posted an actual 30.06 sign, you are good to go.
  11. Their website Natchez Trace Parkway (U.S. National Park Service) also shows it is under the control of the National Parks Service. Therfore carry on it will not be legal until Federal Law allows it, currently not till Feb 2010
  12. Technically only if you are picking up or dropping off passengers. 39-17-1311((1)(G)(iv)
  13. Senate Amendment 2 would have applied to anyone, but it was withdrawn on 5/18/09 Seneate Amendment 3 is the final version of the bill that passed. It only applies to HCP holders. I remember hearing talk of trying to include those with a hunting license, but apparently that never even actually made it to an amendement, let alone being adopted.
  14. Kudos to the responding officers....not so much for the dispatcher that said put your gun away before the officers arrived. Granted it's probably not a good idea to be standing out in the yard with the gun in your hand when the arrive, but staying armed and in a defensive position inside until they do arrive would be the best IMO.
  15. You must have a HCP, the weapon be in or on any privately owned vehicle and no round in the chamber. Other than that all is good. You can chamber a round to use the weapon in self-defense. I just need to get a good scabbard to put on my motorcycle for a shotgun now. Sort of like in T2
  16. Long Guns - Immediately State Parks - Immediately Local Parks - Sept 1 National Parks - Immediately as far as the state is conferenced. So some places like National Forest would be Immediately, however as of today it is still Feb 2010 for National Parks and National WMAs
  17. First AFAIK carry on the Natchez Trace Parkway is NOT legal. At least that is what the park rangers have told me. This is because the roadway itself is part of the National Park. As far as LBL, isn't a state hwy that runs though the middle of it? If so, then I think, carry inside your car while on the state hwy would be legal, but if you got off the state hwy you would be subject to the laws that apply to LBL.
  18. State parks - Immediately. Local Parks - Sept 1st Federal Parks etc... Immediately as far as the state is concerned, but National Parks still have to wait for the Federal Law to go into effect in Feb 2010.
  19. Welcome
  20. Welcome
