  1. It's obvious that some here have never followed a bill through the whole process. Yes, this one may be taking a bit more time than some, but overall it's not taking much more of a harder/longer route than any other "controversial" piece of legislation. Speed is not the objective in Nashville.
  2. I don't think he was arrested and/or charged with impersonation just because of the badge...but I agree that was a large part of it.
  3. On item 15 of 27 on the Regular Calendar
  4. There wasn't a minority report for the Senate since all 5 conferees agreed on the one report that went back to the Senate. As best I can figure....the committee members from each chamber issue their own report...one for the House and one for the Senate. If not all the members from a chamber agree on the Majority report, they can issue their own Minority Report. Senate rules require at least one House Conferee also sign the Senate Minority Report. The House rules do not require a Senate Conferee to sign a House Minority report...that is why Armstrong can submit one on his own.
  5. See HB1769/SB1610 It is similar to one already passed in Montana. http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/political-issues/20751-if-just-wasnt-so-cold-montana.html It would not apply to.. (1) A firearm that cannot be carried and used by one (1) person; (2) A firearm that has a bore diameter greater than one and one half (1 ½) inches and that uses smokeless powder, not black powder, as a propellant; (3) Ammunition with a projectile that explodes using an explosion of chemical energy after the projectile leaves the firearm; or (4) A firearm that discharges two or more projectiles with one activation of the trigger or other firing device.
  6. Not my area of the state...but best of luck on your repatriation.
  7. Did Sen Jackson say in the Conference committee the other day the Senate has a "24 hour rule" So even if the House voted on it today and brought it over to the Senate it would have to be at least 24 hours before it could be brought up for action in the Senate?
  8. Yep, "Personal Orders" If nothing else and for good or bad, we are learning a lot more about the legislative process...lol They are about half-way through the Regular Calendar in the Senate
  9. Seems like last time they did the Message Calendar last..... I may switch and check the Senate
  10. The senate version is MUCH better. I hope the senate version of the parks bill is the final version just like the restaraunt bill.....
  11. Thread closed
  12. I like VT if all states were like that. But since they are not, I like AKs just a bit better since they are basically like VT, but they do issue permits so their residents can carry in other states.
  13. I have had some technical issues and not been able to log on for a while. So I admit I have read each word of every new post...but let me say a few more things. I would not suggest going to the hospital JUST to delay talking with the police. But it is very possible being medically evaluated could be a good thing. Anything I say to medical personnel will be medically related...not about the incident. So even if my medical records ended up in court, it's not going to make a difference one way or the other. I would suggest you limit what you say to them as well. But if you don't want to go....don't...about that simple. I have to disagree with the statement "You will be arrested" or even "You will be detained and/or taken to the PD". I admit at least going to the PD is likely but not a guarantee. I would also be willing to bet how this would be handled from dept to dept would be different, especially based on the size of the dept and/or city. That is one reason I would really love to see the bill I mentioned in post 19 passed.
  14. Local news wrong again.....
  15. I'd have to go back and check, but I believe I contacted him and Todd both as sponsors of HB0962 and suggested that it be added as part of the bill. Granted I'm sure they were both more concerned with getting the bill as it was passed without adding more too it.
  16. If HB0962 finally become law....it could be worth our time to petition the legislature to correct this. Since then neither part of the sign would be correct. I have contacted several in the past about this, but never have got a response.
  17. Kudos to the employee
  18. Every person that is supposed to be counted may not be living at a place that has a mailing address. If household doesn't respond to the packet, they will be visited by a CW for an interview to answer the questions....I would guess the GPS location would help the worker get to the correct location.
  19. See here
  20. Not sure it does me though...... Been having trouble just trying to open a single browser/tab the last little bit. It could be due to a lot of traffic because of the post about HB0962 though...I guess.
  21. He was.....apparently for whatever reason, he wasn't able to.
  22. Since we didn't think of it being memorial day weekend and in an effort to allow more to attend, the trip for May 22 has been canceled. Anyone interested in a ride to the Gatlinburg area is urged to suggest a date/weekend(s) that is good for them. If one date/weekend is good for a majority....we'll see if we can make it happen.
  23. Yep...on Thursday's Message Calendar
  24. No problem... Not like I have much of a life...LOL Might as well help those that to do. HB0962 wasn't on the Regular or Message calendar....starting to think it won't be till Thursday for it in the house either.
