Wildlife laws not my thing, having some trouble finding somethings I have before, but here are some relevant ones I've seen.
  4. Well who really knows with the state... T.C.A. 39-17-1351 Just says "applicant" doesn't really say new or renewal. So.... But renewals are addressed in a different sub-part. The very fact the mention the ability to carry with a receipt of renewal looks like to me they expect some permits to expire before the issued renewals even in the best of times and that is with the abilty to apply for a renewal up to 6 months before expiration. To me an "applicant" is just that whether it is new or renew, but this appear to be special times so to speak.
  5. Yep....AFAIK there is no time limit on the state to issue a renewal. But in the past generally has not been a problem. Mine expires in May of '09. May see if a family member wants to pay for my renewal as a Christmas present this year.
  6. Not in the business of law making anyway.
  7. There is no legal difference between a bar/beer joint/tavern/restaurant in TN. That was one of the problems with the restaurant carry bill....and is the main issue that is going to be addressed in the summer study committee. Any public place that serves alcohol for onsite consumption does not need a sign to say it is illegal. It is statutorily illegal (39-17-1305) and a sign is not required by the statute
  8. Hello
  9. Hate to hear about this brother. Glad your ok for the most part. You know when I laid my last bike down, that's what was able to help me get the one I've got now, that I do like a little better. So maybe it'll be blessing in disguise so to speak. ....and everyone out there remember....
  10. Here is a link to a from on the state's website where a pawn dealer or FFL can submit a firearm(s) by fax to TICS to see if they are stolen. Not sure if a private citizen could use it or not.

  12. One of the legal benefits of being the owner.....
  13. Don't know of any myself, just wanted to say Hello to someone so close. Just to clarify in TN it is a Safety Class for a Handgun Carry Permit. The class main function (at least as deemed by the state) is to teach the safe use of a firearm. Upon successful completion of that and the other requirements the state will issue you a HCP that allows to carry Open and/or Concealed any handgun(s) you have.
  14. Welcome

  16. I read that case.... What you quoted was the footnote the judge provided as to why in his opinion the "Right to keep and bear arms" is not absolute. Of course the overall best thing about it is he is writing in dissension on case that was ruled the other way. Also it looks like SCOTUS is about to rule the 2A as individual right, not that of a group or "militia".
  17. Welcome
  18. Well said Tungsten.
  19. Best I can tell by reading the RV/Car page at http://www.handgunlaw.us/ you can have a loaded gun in your car in Texas, but it must not be on your person and must be concealed (glovebox, etc...) within the vehicle. Title 10 . Section 1 Section 46.02 (a) A person commits an offense if the person [he]intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries on or about his or her person a handgun, illegal knife, or club if the person is not: (1) on the person's own premises or premises under the person's control; or (2) inside of or directly en route to a motor vehicle that is owned by the person or under the person's control. (a-1) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries on or about his or her person a handgun in a motor vehicle that is owned by the person or under the person's control at any time in which: (1) the handgun is in plain view; or (2) the person is: (A) engaged in criminal activity, other than a Class C misdemeanor that is a violation of a law or ordinance regulating traffic; ( prohibited by law from possessing a firearm; or © a member of a criminal street gang, as defined by Section 71.01 For Lousiana it refrences the Louisiana Concealed Handgun Permit Unit FAQ page @ http://www.lsp.org/pdf/chFAQ.pdf CAN I CARRY MY HANDGUN IN MY VEHICLE? Louisiana law does not expressly prohibit the carrying of handguns in vehicles. This is a complicated issue. We suggest that you refer to Louisiana Revised Statutes (L.R.S.) Title 14 Sections 95; 95.1; 95.2; 95.6; 95.7; 95.8. Information on these statutes can be obtained at http://www.legis.state.la.us/ or in the “Laws and Rules†section of our web page. In AL and TN the weapon must be unloaded and ammo stored separately.
