Mine... I sent it to the boss and CCed Judge.

Nobody came across too strong. Just making sure i didn't... That is an excellent point. The parents are at the root of their kids success and most likely if they home school then they are the type to care and be involved. These are also the parents who will look to place their kids in some social situations for that very reason. The ones I talked to had, anyway. And in some cases it had worked itself out through a church friend who got them in with the school kids. But definitely it takes a parent who is engaged for the kid to be successful whether the kids are home schooled or go to public school. Which is a good place to say to the OP good for you for sticking up for your child and making sure they know that YOU are raising that baby and not them.

I agree...this is appalling but sadly not shocking. And now that i think about it... it goes beyond just using the death of a fallen hero to push their agenda. Being a sniper can't be easy. Every kill is personal. I can only imagine what kind of fortitude it would take to cope with that. And you take this guy who, despite that, is strong enough to come home and put his personal battles aside and help other wounded soldiers with heir own battles and he lost his life doing so. That's what makes him a damn hero. Not 1000000000 yd one shot one kills. They just said to hell with the fact that this wasn't just another murder. It was him trying to help another hero cope with what he had been through. But this cartoon implies "a bad guy with a gun." So this cartoon also shows their blatant disrespect of ALL our people in uniform. Apparently to the left a soldier is just another a-hole with a gun. That's the way i see it anyway...

I wasn't trying to be an a-hole. I was pretty anti-homes school as well. but after meeting some people that have, some who have kids in college, my mind was changed. Personally my kids are in public school. Thank goodness we have some pretty good schools in Dickson County. But these people that home schooled said there was no problem.

Those are nice. Careful though...black rifles are known to be evil... :)

Fact is home schooled kids are usually more well rounded and make better grades than most public school kids. It has also been pretty well proven that home schooled kids don't really have any problems adjusting socially. And if a parent doesn't feel they can adequately teach a subject they can take them to the school for that class.

The left has no issue with standing on graves as a platform to spew their :poop: ....Now they're taking a shot at Chris Kyle....May this cartoonist rot in hell.... http://www.mrconservative.com/2013/02/4929-cartoon-mocks-killing-of-chris-kyle-and-2nd-amendment/

IDK...It seems to me like he got it right. I think what he is saying is that without the second then the others are gone, too. Just like you said. I think he is just using the 3rd as evidence that the second isn't reserved for hunters. Because you couldn't enforce the other 9, especially the 3rd, if you weren't at least as well armed as the soldier(s) whom you'd be enforcing it a against.

This just showed up on their Facebook page. I don't think they are joking. "Leadership team is at the Capitol again today, holding the line. Regardless of a manufacturing exemption or not, if HB1224 passes, we have to go. We can't disappoint our customers nor ignore our convictions. Anyone who votes in favor of this bill votes to drive over 600 jobs out of CO. We'll have some contact information for some further assistance coming up soon." http://www.facebook.com/magpul

And then refuse to sell to any of the commie states/feds. Talk about molon labe. That's a great letter St. Patrick. I've been following this issue on their Facebook page. Honestly I hope CO does the right thing. But if not I hope we can make a case to bring them here. I'm sure that letter got someone's attention.

Jim Cooper this morning on Background Checks
KaNuckles replied to Peace's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I live in Dickson and I was raped by the TN Republicans. We had us a Repub. rep and everything was fine until the redistricting. I was all for it until I realized Jim Cooper was my new rep. Being in the same district as Davidson County now I fear we are stuck with this :poop: for brain. He has already won a reelection since redistricting so I don't hold much hope of ever getting rid of him. -

I am going to have to look into some of those pumps. Might help my uphill problem. This got me thinking I could just move my beds down to the lower part of my yard. Don't know why I didn't think of that before. The pond thing is a great Idea. I'm a plumber so when thinking of water catchment my mind went straight to septic tanks. Plus if it were shtf and the barrels began to breakdown or piping/valves/seals started to leak you may be out of luck. I am going to use barrels but if I ever hit the lottery I will put tanks in the ground. The ponds would work nicely as well.

That's pretty cool. Unfortunately my house is at a lower elevation than my garden so i would have to pump it. I can catch the water off my shed but I don't know how much I will get. I'm going to try and make it to Murfreesboro this weekend and pick up a few barrels. If you go with concrete an underground tank would probably cost between $1500-2000 for a 1000 gallon tank installed. Then you would need a pump. Not cheap but very permanent. You can daisy chain septic tanks together but each one would require it's own pump. You can set the tank with the top flush with th ground and mount one of those old timy handpumps right on top. You can also bucket the water out if something ever happened to one of the pumps. Plus the seals and diaphragm in those old pumps are leather so you can make replacements. Very SHTF friendly set up. Just expensive.

It really is amazing how much better my heirloom seeds have done than the GMO crap. I was just thinking how nice it is that if i had to i could do everything i do now without any type of mechanical tool if necessary. Water is coming soon. i will probably start out with above ground barrels but eventually i want to put a couple of septic tanks in the ground and put the old-timey handpumps on top.

That's a great link. I have a 3 ring binder FULL of stuff i have printed on companions, seed saving, and just general info on each plant. looks like I'm gonna have to start another one. I've had several gardens but this is only my second year of raised beds/companion/heirloom plants. My move from Wal-mart seed to heirloom IS part of my prepping. I've been "into" prepping for a while but haven't really move on it. I guess the gardening thing is my first true prep. Chickens be next. I am gathering reclaimed material for a coop now. What happened to your corn btw?

That's cool guys. I wish I could afford a tractor. I do at least have a rear tine tiller so it is self-propelled. Check into companion planting. I do a lot of stuff in raised beds. You cam cram a lot of stuff in a bed. I grow my corn on flat ground because of the space it takes. This year O am going to try planting my peas, green beans, and cucumbers in my corn and let them climb the stalks. Its a lot of fun to play around with stuff like that.

Very Nice. My beds are 3x12. Do you companion plant?
