  1. I am a machinist, and just did my reciever like Broomhead suggested. Bead blasted to give it an even finish inside and out, then sanded and polished the outside. I did the trigger gaurd and trigger too. Not too shabby... It wasn't hard at all. Just an option for you. http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e118/INTChamp/Ruger1022side.jpg
  2. I did a quick search, but didn't find anything. So if somebody has a link, please help me out. I recently bought a Yugo SKS. Tapco stock, Tapco mag, red dot scope...pretty nice for an SKS. Anyhow, I would like to clean up the barrel by removing the grenade launcher ladder, front site and bayonet lug. I do not want to cut it off. I removed the two dowels, but don't want to start beating on it with a hammer. Does anybody know if it is a slip/press fit on the barrel? Maybe use just a little heat, and tap? I want to be able to put the parts back if I need to. Thanks in advance!
  3. I'd like a little info on this as well. Where is the range? I would like to go and meet a few new people into shooting paper.
  4. I had an M&P .40 full size with Crimson trace grips for awhile. Loved it! Traded it off. Wish I had it back.
  5. I checked it out using my Droid. No risk of virus using it. Looks like a whole lot of nothing to me...
  6. I got my permit 3-4 months ago. So I carry pretty much all the time. In the truck console everyday, and on my hip as much as possible. However, I just wonder as time goes by, the new wears off of the "right to bear arms", and I (hopefully) never need it to defend myself, if I will start to strap it to my hip less and less?
  7. I have been a big fan of the Taurus Mill Pro pistols simply because they are small, short barreled and have a thumb safety. Very easy to conceal also. Currently I am toting a XDm 9mm IWB. A bit larger for sure, but still concealable. And it has a 19+1 capacity. Not that I put that many rounds in the mag...
  8. I have carried in my front pocket while wearing shorts. Not too crazy about it. IWB seems to work best for me. And usually I will set my firearm on the seat next to me if I am making a trip in the vehicle with any length to the ride. Mainly because it is more comfortable, but after reading here, it brings to mind the difficulty factor of getting to it while seated with a stearing wheel in front of you. As far as, caliber of carry goes...that is the biggest topic of argument there is. Lets face it. If you have a carry permit, it is to give you a piece of mind you can defend yourself if necessary. If toting a full size Kimber gives you piece of mind, so be it. If its a .22 Deringer, so be it. Point is, a concealed or open firearm is probably the best "insurance" policy most of us have. Amount of coverage on that policy is totally your discretion. Just my .02....
  9. Just heard about this site this morning. Lots of great info! Looking forward learning, trading and chatting with everybody.
