I bought a 929 1970 model for the wife a year or so ago. Its been a great little shooter. She used it to take her HCP class with.

  7. I have worked as a mechanic since I was about 16. During my career I have had a couple odd jobs but mostly been turning wrenches has been my gig. My last employment was working for a construction company maintaining a fleet of vehicles and heavy equipment. The wife has been out of work for quite a while. I have actually been wanting to get into the security field, Im just tired of working on stuff. And as life would have it, my side business has been slow all year and this week alone I get 6 phone calls from clients all wanting work done before winter. To answer your question see this
  8. Yes Sir I agree with you on the "let is slide" thing and as far as good luck goes, it has alway been in my favor. I even have it tattood on my forearm (born lucky) with the lucky 7 dice. As far as work goes I already have 1 lead that really looks very reassuring for my self as well as my wife. I trust that God will get me through this little setback as he always does.
  9. I got some great news today after loosing my job last Friday. I was doing some side work for a customer today and I get a call from the Blount Co Sheriff's Dept. The detective asks if I am the one who's case they worked on alomost 2 years ago (we were robbed). I said yes its me and my case. He procedes to tell me that the Clinton police contacted them and said they recoverd one of my guns stolen back in Jan 2011. He asked a few questions about the insurance situation and all went well. Now I just need to contact the insurance co and see what I have to do to buy it back. Now if they can find the other 4 guns I'd be one happy camper. This recovery makes 2 that they have found for me. Im sure in time the rest will show up.
  10. Same gun you saw there was also unfired according to the owners. I looked at it as well.

  14. Thanks for the info guys. Im hoping to get out to the range this weekend and play with it a little. I have read that there really is not a wrong powder charge for these but I think there has to be a limit? The charge I used on the 2 that I shot was 20 or 22 grains. I forget what my flask is measured for.
  15. I dont understand why everyone thinks that something is wrong with buying a great gun at a super low price. I just want to throw out as a reminder that I bought my G19 gen2 for $225. Great deal. I did have the #'s run with a bill of sale. No problems.
  16. Hello everyone, I have recently picked up a .36 cal uberti black powder pistol. I have only loaded 2 balls caps and wads to make sure it shoots. I have found that a tool is made, making it easier to load the caps. This pistol uses #10 caps and all the tools I find are for #11's. Will the tool work for my application? Also is there anyone in the local Knoxville area who would carry replcement nipples or do I just order them online?

  22. I just have to say, that for over 20 years that I have been a mechanic and have used an air operated impact wrench, I have always carried my wrench in hand with my trigger finger north of the trigger. I guess by doing this it just came natural for me when I started getting into firarms.
