This is a thread that is not about the Ukraine

I've heard someone say that it's "airy" if there's a chilly wind. Did you go ice fishing? -

One of my best friends uses the phrase a lot, although he often doesn't think about what he's saying either. -

My wife was taken aback by a certain phrase in the local lingo. She asked a co-worker if she would do a certain task for her. "I don't care to do that," was the reply. This came off as rude to my Texas-raised wife. She interpreted the response as, "Go blank yourself." She was relieved to learn that it really meant, "It won't bother me to do that for you." -

This Texas transplant has been in East TN almost 20 years. Many say "y'all" instead of "you-uns," but I have yet to hear a "youse". -
Tuckaleechee Caverns opens March 1st, if you can get excited about a big hole in the ground. You can also float around on a tube for awhile along the Little River starting Memorial Day weekend. Other than that, keep your head on a swivel for the town's LEO--and you better keep it at or below 45 mph.

I saw that many vendors haven't repented yet of their price-gouging. There were plenty of primers available at $100 per thousand and one guy had the guts to ask $80 for a pound of Hodgdon Titegroup. Heck, even Russia couldn't keep up the fight for long at what the scalpers were wanting for Wolf ammo. -
Next thing ya know, somebody will post a pic of a S&W with the screws mangled.......Oh, wait!

This conversation almost makes me afraid to admit that I often rely upon a Taurus TCP.

I'm glad the problem's resolved, but sorry it ever came up. Returning to DEFCON 4.

I'm pretty sure they didn't sell enough of them to pay off the Sandy Hook plaintiffs.

I have found that the Lord does an excellent job of removing "snakes" from your path, too!

Put more money into the PR department than into R&D.

I'll wait for Hi-Standard and Weatherby to get into the Micro 9 game.

I've always been a stickler for keeping guns tidy and preventing carbon buildup. As I recall, the gun was tighter than a Bill Clinton alibi. My suspicion was that heat expansion between the cylinder and barrel could have jammed it up, but I would think a S&W QA inspector would have caught that. I probably would have sold it off eventually because of the economic downturn of the period. I said goodbye to a lot of treasures then: a Colt Python, a Belgian-made Hi Power and a S&W Model 19, to name a few.

I wish the feds would let you have as many pounds of powder as there are pounds of powder regulations.

The only trouble I recall with S&W happened in the late '70s after they introduced the Model 63 kit gun in stainless steel. The cylinder would lock up after the second or third reload. I sent it back and Smith returned it about a month later. Same problem. I sold my troubles off to some other guy, who no doubt has a valuable classic on his hands.

What? No trigger safety? You'll shoot your eye out, kid!

I wondered if there would be a shorter repair turnaround for locals when the new factory got built in my hometown. I couldn't get a straight answer from area gun stores so perhaps that idea is about as farfetched as dumpster diving for parts.

How in blue blazes did so much torque get on a fastener that was meant to be removed anyway? It may be the fault of a disgruntled S&W worker who didn't make the cut for the move to Tennessee, but that sort of blame gaming only divides the country further. May the good Lord give you wisdom in making this thing right, but count me in for any petition, boycott or other saber-rattling tactic that you may want to throw first.

Mea culpa for the infraction. Just an ominous warning to CSX 9mm buyers that five minutes later the 30SC version could be available.
