  I searched for "Tennessee logo" in the threads and came up with zilch.  Then I painstakingly read every thread all the way to June until I had to stick my finger into an electric lamp socket just to get my brain re-synched.  I sent private messages to several in-the-know TGO member fanboys who searched their memories for a similar thread and all I got back was, "Why don't you grow a pair and step up with a new OP?"  Ok, my fault that I didn't include monkeylizard and OS in that clique.  I figured they'd be too busy reading the gun rags, waging caliber wars or having a beer with hickok45 to lower themselves to respond to a peon like me with only a measly thousand posts.  So out went my manhood on the table and it got sliced up like a Thanksgiving turkey.  I'm sure I'll heal after a few dozen Walker, Texas Ranger episodes and a sampling of every bottle in the whiskey and spirits thread.  Or maybe get a new computer, change my username and email address and sign up as "Rawhead Tac-Man" and live the rest of my life in the basement with a neon Glock sign and R. Lee Ermey poster.  But, I got a few replies to this new thread, so I really should be happy for now.    :drama:

  That's sort of a "depends upon what the definition of is, is" statement.  The framers of the Constitution had the people of this country in mind when they laid the legal framework, not the huddled masses yearning to be free.  Nowhere does the Constitution mention abortion or birth control, but that doesn't stop activists from declaring those to be God-ordained entitlements.  True rights don't cost taxpayers anything.  Nobody has to foot the bill for you to stand on a soapbox and talk your head off.  We don't have to pay to build others a church, synagogue or mosque to worship in.  If I own a firearm, it's because I plunked the money down, not some unrelated family that's trying to put food on their table.  But now the cries go up for the "right to healthcare," even though it means the taxpayers all have to dig deep to pay the doctors, nurses, and whoever else dons a lab coat, not counting the insurance companies who send their bills to Washington.  In the beginning, the U.S. Treasury wasn't pilfered by every Tom, Dick and Harry who believed that this country owed them a living.  Originally we were offered only the pursuit of happiness; today many demand it.

To quote the Preamble to the Consitution:     Who does "the people of the United States" refer to--citizens or illegal aliens?   What kind of justice is established--that based upon the law or upon men's social feelings?   What insurance company pays if "insured domestic tranquility" results in riots and pandemonium?   How can we have a "common defence" if SCOTUS says that police are not constitutionally bound to protect us and the military can't be armed on U.S. bases?   Where's my "general welfare" check?   To me, the blessings of liberty aren't fully secure and our posterity seems to be hanging out in the breeze.

I can't follow Donald Trump. In tonight's debate he talked of making donations to politicians not because he supported them, but for the favors that they would be obliged to return. He didn't condemn the practice, he only acknowledged it. He used bankruptcy laws to feather his own financial nest, regardless of the people who would be put out of work. He says he's the only one who can save America, yet our history was written by the many good and sacrificial things which groups of people did for the whole, rather than what a single individual accomplished for himself. Watching Trump tonight, I couldn't help but compare him to the performance of Robert DeNiro as Al Capone in The Untouchables.
