  1. Here's a box review by a new owner......not very impressive.  Gee, I'd rather have a rifle with magazines instead of clips.  :-\   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zv8KgSUPso
  2.   As OS has reported, the governor and legislature have been seating the judges anyway for the last several decades and we have the vote to keep them or chuck them.  Very few, if any, have been tossed by popular election.  However, we still retain the right to elect our governor and legislature, so it's not as if we have a limited voice.   I also don't live with the fantasy that today's voters are of the same intellectual or moral caliber that they were in the golden era when all was seemingly right with this country and we were united in pride for our nation.  You can buy votes by giving out free cell phones and EBT cards today or get a riot started merely by saying that it's happening.  Perhaps when citizens once again think responsibly and common sense becomes more common, then we can confidently believe that we can elect a government of, by and for the people rather than at the people.
  3.   Here's how I voted and why:   Amend. 1--Yes, because every organization that admitted or even smelled of Democrat is against it.   Amend. 2--Yes, because whatever voice you give to the people, the political bastards are going to skew it to suit themselves anyway.   Amend. 3--Yes, to make sure they can't threaten us with an earned income tax, but they'll bleed us dry with sales and property taxes.   Amend. 4--Yes, because it's a crying shame that our vets come back disabled and we have to pass the hat for their care.  Give these heroes what they need.   Grocers selling wine--No, because it'll make Mike 357's day if they can't.

The name Ruger and accessories go hand-in-hand, so there's several things you can do to trick them out.  For accuracy, one of these days I might put a barrel stabilizer on it which acts as a combo stiffener and heat sink.  Here's one that looks good:   http://sunfloweroutdoorsports.com/Mo-Rod-4-Barrel-Stabilizer-Accurizer-for-Ruger-Mini-14-30-MR4.htm   For the simple add-ons, you can follow this guy's ideas....but collapsible or retractable stocks, muzzle brakes and other goodies are available, too:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MttOpoRMsf8

Did you buy a Ruger 20-rounder?  I got one the other day that I haven't tried....almost 40 bucks though.  I'm doing my own reloads with pretty good accuracy.  I know you can get Commie ammo pretty cheap, but I've decided to pamper it until the SHTF, then I don't really care what goes down the pipe.
  6.   Just so you know, Mike....I pulled the lever against the grocers.   Now if I can't get my sangria at a decent price...... :grouchy:

I got a slightly older model, before they started calling them ranch rifles.  So far no wants, no warrants.
  8. Just what kind of wine do the grocers want to sell?  It probably won't be over $10/bottle.  Thunderbird and Ripple will be heavily discounted at Walmart.  If you're a connoisseur, you'll still go to the package stores.
  9.   Succinctly put, the legislature wants to legalize the procedure they've been doing illegally for decades.  The only plus I can think of for voting Yes is it keeps out-of-state money from influencing the election of judges.  This is the like the mess that began when the U.S. 17th Amendment was ratified and took election of senators from the hands of the legislatures and put it up for popular vote.   I wouldn't want George Soros' money fueling a Tennessee Supreme Court election.
  10.   A Yes win will ensure we won't have a tax on earned income.  Folks who live on investments will still have to cough up.  I wonder if they'll increase that 6% rate if other revenues fall short.  Remember, they always have a way of getting their pound of flesh.
  11. Praise God!  That's terrific, robin.
  12.   I can't accept that as the reason.  It's a right according to the highest contract U.S. citizens have with government and states are bound to recognize its provisions.  It was the jerks on the Supreme Court who have given power to the lesser governments to regulate arms, not just for law enforcement purposes.
  13. I'm still trying to figure out why the Second Amendment is the only one that requires a permit to exercise it.
  14. Could be a Wolf spider....or its evil twin brother, the Coyote.
  15. The last time I waddled into my doctor's office, he explained why it's easy to put on weight and hard to get off.  In the golden days of America, people used to have to exert exercise to get their food--farming, manual labor, and other jobs with lots of moving around.  Now we mostly sit on our butts, typing on computers and get our food from a drive-thru window.  If we went back to making a living with more physical effort, we could be drinking our beer while showing off six pack abs.
  16. Et tu, Noo Yawk?   http://www.guns.com/2014/10/04/new-york-next-to-pursue-gun-violence-restraining-order-legislation/
  17. California liberals have found that the way to a man's guns is through his anti-2nd Amendment relatives.   http://clashdaily.com/2014/10/gun-grabbers-california-gun-owners-liberty-lovers-wont-like-edict/
  18.   Before I retired I spent much too much time there.  I've been going to therapy sessions but I get an occasional lapse.  So fugiddaboudit.
  19. Not for nuthin', but this is getting a little disconcerting. Get a load of this incident of workplace spookiness.   http://www.news9.com/story/26678215/police-investigate-report-of-unauthorized-arabic-man-at-moore-hs
  20.   Not to criticize your opinion, just to learn.  Were these training shots made under stress?
  21. So far an act of "workplace violence."   http://kfor.com/2014/09/25/reports-police-respond-to-possible-shooting-near-moore-grocery-store/
  22. After discovering the GFS store, where we can buy discounted bulk food items at about the same price without a membership, the wife and I stay out of Sam's and Costco.
  23. The Remington Model 700 rifle used by Charles Whitman to snipe at University of Texas bystanders in 1966 has been put on the auction block, with a starting bid of $25,000.   http://www.chron.com/news/houston-texas/texas/article/Rifle-reported-to-be-used-in-Charles-Whitman-5777479.php
  24. You make the targets look smaller.
  25. May God comfort you and the family in your grief and watch over you on the journey.
