  1. It sure is a lot faster now days.IIRC my first time took about 6 months and I had to be fingerprinted twice. And then 2 years after I had my permit I had to go back and be fingerprinted a 3rd time.I never did find out why that was.

    Strong winds

That wind has been a whoopin here all night.I can hear the roof vents spinning around now.
  3. There is a guy around here that carries and competes with a G34 in an IWB holster under an untucked shirt and does quite well with that set up.More often than not he will win his class and be second or third overall or sometimes take the top spot outright.
  4. In the same size gun I would go with the GAP.However I think all the gun and ammunition companies as well as the shooting community should refer to the GAP as the .45 Short or Special.Reason being that Glock will not acknowledge the name of another company on their guns. For example instead of .40 S&W,.357 Sig,or.45 ACP they mark the guns .40 auto.357 auto, and .45 auto:2cents:.

    Hog Hunting

I know there used to be a place years ago that included a custom made knife to use for the kill in the price for the hunt. They used dogs IIRC.The dogs held the hog while you killed the hog with the knife.
  6. I remember a Massad Ayoob article about cops and firearm accidents.A cop some place put his Glock on a coat hook on the back of the toilet stall door. When he reached for it he hit the trigger on the hook and it fired 3 or 4 times before stopping.Bet he had to crap again after that.
  7. I am a equal opportunity bigot.I hate everyone including myself.
  8. Mag capacity is not an issue,IDPA limits mags to 10 rds in ESP and SSP which are the only two divisions you can shoot a Glock 19 or 23.
  9. Gun shows are therapy for me.Just go in and walk around a few hours and forget about what bugs you.
  10. If I told you I would have to kill you:D
  11. I never heard anything bad about them.I think by the time they got into the big bore DA market that Ruger and S&W had carved a niche with the hunting crowd and the Anaconda kind of floundered.
  12. Recoil is a subjective thing. Some people like the sharp snap others like a firm push.Find what works for you.I also shot my first match with a Glock 23.It had night sights on it and the sun reflecting off the glass vials made aiming a challenge.I switched to a Glock 21 with Heines for the next match and stayed with it for about 3 years.
  13. For carry and home defense I prefer a revolver. For the gun games I prefer an auto.To me revolvers are more fun to shoot but autos are more fun to compete with.
  14. I love the look of the new 4 inch Redhawk.Ruger makes it in .44 mag and .45 Colt.It is on my must buy list for this year.
  15. Visit the shops and check out the different makes and models.I see a lot of people recomend the Glock 19 but I would go with the 17 as it has a better feeling grip and less muzzle flip.
  16. He ought to move to Andy Berke's district then.He is as anti gun as Ward Crutchfield was,and don't get me started on that crooked SOB.
  17. Hey,promoting gun shows is a business. They rent the space ,put the tables in place, promote the show etc. Also they have insurance for liability to pay.If you don't want to go then stay home.I like to go to be around other gun owners and check stuff out.I may not buy a thing and just kill time but I enjoy it.YMMV.
  18. A 4 inch.44 magnum.I reload so I can tailor loads up or down depending on the need.
  19. I am in the same situation here in Chattanooga when I walk my dog early every morning on the levee.I take the law at its word and only carry a knife with a blade less than 4 inches, hiking stick(4ft hickory sapling) and a cell phone.Oh yeah, the dog can be intimidating if he sees strangers.
  20. You ain't kidding, you ought to try it with a wrist rocket .The high one ain't too bad but by the time you reload the low one is gone.
  21. Too many to mention, but what's done is done.
  22. The mags are on the pricey side, that maybe one reason.I had a P14 Limited that was the most reliable 1911 ever owned,It and a Beretta 92F are the only autos I have owned that never malfuntioned.Wish I still had it.
  23. I got my expungment back in 92 and have never had a problem buying a gun or getting my permit because of it.The only time I've had a background check come back pending on me was because of a problem with a gun's serial no.My gun's serial no.was for example xyz1234 and the one with the no. xyz1235 had come up stolen.
