  1. Just getting into making a big out bag. A few things I have added. For summer you may need sunblock. For winter I had added some hot hands hand warmers. Those things are invaluable when the temp drops and you are outside. Also plastic ziploc bags to keep things dry incase of rain or a water crossing. Hand sanitizer also. For sanitary reasons and also to help start a fire.
  2. What did you think of your box? Has anybody else tried it?
  3. http://www.newschannel9.com/news/top-stories/stories/shoot-dont-shoot-5129.shtml?wap=0& Thought it was pretty good. I like most of the stuff Calvin does.
  4. Yea. That's what I really meant was how well does it work. I'm wondering if the case chargers work any better than an external one.
  5. Caster, How does that charger work for your iPhone? I am very interested in a solar charger for my phone but reviews for all of them on amazon seem hit or miss. I would really like to try this for obvious portability reasons. http://www.browndoggadgets.com/
  6. Much better!!! Looks GREAT!!!
  7. I just got a WASR just before Christmas. Tulammo and Herters from Cabelas is all I have been able to find. I have put about 500 rounds of each down range with no problems.
  8. Went to Tiftonia Walmart this morning. They had a box of 7.62 and a box of tulammo .45. I asked the lady if she could open then cabinet and she sai no she couldn't because they lost the key last night.
  9. Nice family!! I like the furniture on your AR.
  10. Good to know there are still some to be had!
  11. Modern Firearms on Ringgold Rd had 9mm today. About 8 boxes of Blazer at $14.97 a box and about 20 boxes of some other company I have never seen. They were in a maroon box. They were $17 and some change a box. They also had some .223 behind the counter. I was imagining they r rationing them. They had .22 lr in 50 round american eagle boxes for $3.17 a box. Lots of other calipers too. They usually have about 20-30 glocks and they only had 3 or 4 today. Most other pistols they had plenty of. Several .22 and a few deer hunting rifles. Several shotguns. No AR-15s. I was surprised they had so much still in stock. Anyways. They are not open tomorrow. Only monday through Saturday. Just a heads up.
  12. I bought a kel Tec p3at from him this time last year. $260 out the door. Very knowledgable. Great guy to deal with!!
  13. I walk into walked into the Walmart in brainerd this morning at 7:45. Shelves were mostly empty but there were two large cardboard boxes behind the counter and they were open just a hair. I saw some ammo peeking out at me. I walked halfway around the store to find someone to call the sporting goods person. To my surprise it only took 30 seconds for someone to show up. He opened both boxes and there was some 308, 30-06, 22 short, .380, and 7.62. I bought 6 boxes of 7.62 and left the other 14 boxes for others to get. I also talked with the guy. He said these boxes had probably been sitting in the floor since the previous day but they are so under staffed that nobody had time to put the tax stamps on them and put them on the shelf. He said they automatically order all the ammo that is supposed to be on the shelf but it's really just a grab bag as to what they get. It gets rolled out on a pallet with clothes and food processors and everything else Walmart sells. One more tip. If u go to Walmart.com and look for the ammo u want, it will tell u what stores have it in stock. I have found it is pretty accurate.
  14. My walmart had .380s in some blue box I have never seen before and .40 winchester white box. out of everything else. Of course there were no employees to ask when the next shipment was coming in.
  15. Not sure if this is the right place for this or not. If it needs to be in another forum please move it. What do you guys say to people who say that ammo for ARs and AKs should be taxed so they are $500 a bullet? I have over heard several people talking and saying that "if ammo was more expensive they wouldn't be able to shoot as many people." I am trying my best to stay out of any argument because I know the backgrounds and feelings and opinions of the people I work with. Of course most of them have no idea about guns or ammo and are just regurgitating what the media is telling everybody. I was just wondering what you guys would say in retort. Thanks
  16. Very nice!! Wood looks like its in great shape. Let us know how she fires.
  17. I wish you were closer too! All the walmarts within 50 miles are out of the Tulammo 7.62. Local gun shops have been out for weeks also. I bought a pack of .22 lr today. First pack I have seen on the shelf since Obama was reelected
  18. Oh ok. Thanks for the information.
  19. Hey guys. I did a quick search and did not find the answer to my question. Can I post a wanted to buy without being a benefactor? Thanks in advance, Adam

  21. Hey everybody. Has anyone else had trouble finding .22 long rifle ammo? I'm not talking about reloading, just on the shelf at Walmart stuff. I have check the 5 walmarts in Chattanooga and the one in fort Oglethorpe, ga. Even the local gun shop was out the past few weeks. I usually buy Federal or winchesters but there are none to be had. Anybody else having trouble finding .22s?

    AK vs. SKS

Very interesting conversation. I am in the same boat and it seems the SKS has more votes if you can't spend the extra $$$ for an AK. Thanks for starting this thread and all the responses.
  24. I cannot post a picture from work either. However, I am a Senior Chemist in the Analytical Research and Development Laboratory for Chattem Inc. I work in Chattanooga near St. Elmo.
