  1. They actually went out into the swamps and tested all this on wild snakes. It was just cool to see the other side of the myths.
  2. I watched a show on snakes, I believe it was on the discovery channel about cotton mouths and copperheads. During the research they found out that a copper head is more likely to strike at you than a cotton mouth. Also if a cotton mouth bite you more than likely he will give you what they call a dry bite meaning little to no venom will be delivered. With a copper head 99% of the time you will get a wet bite meaning it will deilver a venomous bite. I can't remember the name of the show but I thought it was pretty cool. I have never had a cotton mouth chase me, they all seem to just get out of the way as fast as they can.
  3. LOL I almost spit up my koolaid! I would be afraid to touch that collection due to me wanting them all.
  4. If we had a TWRA officer on here maybe he just wants to be a ninja.
  5. Well never let me go hunting with you as I am slow LOL!
  6. Cool learned some new info today. I always thought they were bubble bees. I guess they all look a like when smashed LOL.
  7. It might be a bumble bee they are bad about burrrowing holes in your decks and anything made of wood. You just have to catch them in the hole kill them and repair the hole, thats all we used to do. Not sure how to prevent them from doing it.
  8. Run wd theres a pig beside you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No really nice mount.
  9. could be a king snake, some of them have yellow bellies like in the picture.
  10. Thats basically what I have been using. I am just going to scout a little and wait till cooler weather gets here before I go back out, unless someone really needs them killed.
  11. That is pretty cool.
  12. I am having no luck. Only thing I have been killing is TICKS and lots of them. I don't mind the heat but man the ticks are bad. I think I am going to wait another month or so before I go back out. The pups should be leaving the dens around August.
  13. I had a single shot 10 gauge with full choke and it hurt when I shot it. I added some lead to the stock and it helped some.
  14. Nice!
  15. Closes I have hunted to you would be Perry County (Linden) I own land there and have places to hunt. I grew up in that area.
  16. I use full camo and yes it is hot, even in the mornings. I use a none scented repellant. If I am hunting in the woods I try to get on the high ground with my back against the sun and if the wind works with me. I don't use a blind but I do have camo netting that I can tie around trees to make a make shift blind if I need to.
  17. Have fun and a safe trip!!!
  18. So corny thats it's actually very funny.
  19. You did a great job!!!
  20. No problem. I went Tuesday morning but didn't see anything. As we were crossing into the second field to return you could smell wet dog. I figured a coyote was chasing turkeys that we had seen in that field. The grass is about waist high so it is hard to see anything but a good spot though. Tuesday evening well lets just say I sweated about 60 pounds off.
  21. Same here, maybe if I ever win the lotto.
  22. You must be issued a permit before you can kill deer out of season for the purpose of protecting your crops. You also must show proof that the animal is destroying your crops. If an animal is killed it must be disposed of properly. I'm sure the local TWRA Officer will give you the info on whether you can keep it or not. As far as artificial light some states allow you to spot light deer on your property but you cannot have a firearm at the time.
  23. I like that revolver.
  24. And now the glock jokes.
  25. I have a Garmin Nuvi 350 and LOVE it. I would shop around though I know there are better models out there and at a good price. Tom Tom's are also nice. Can't go wrong with either of them. I also have the inland lake maps on my Garmin so I take it fishing with me. Shows depth, channel, bouys, marinas, and a bunch of other things as well.
