  1. Thoughts on the new ZRODelta Modulus pistols? I ordered these back in November and just got them in this month. I got to take it out to the range for the first time last week and very pleased with the way it shoots. The all metal construction gives it a nice balanced fee. It’s solid and feels softer shooting than a factory G19. The key feature is its modular construction. Dust cover, grip sections, slide and mag wells can be changed out. It uses Glock internals (gen 3 trigger system). Slide has red dot cut out already and can use the different adaptor plates for your specific red dot. This is in the compact setup but the duty and race versions will be available later. So far I really like it and have gotten positive feedback from those who have put their hands on one.
  2. I am a big Beretta fan but I gotta say that I am not impressed. A slim 9mm with more moving parts than a Glock 43 . Plus the end of the gun seems like it would print more than the Glock 43. I say this because I am comparing it to the G43 I own. I like it but not enough to go spend money on it AT THIS TIME. What are your thoughts ? I will add that in my opinion , One of the good things that sets it apart from the S&W Shield is that the rear sights doesn't hold down the striker safety plunger. I detail strip my pistols annually so it makes a difference to me.
  3. I say toy as my use will be plinkin' and target shootin' at slow pace (reduce AMMO use with fixed cylinder load 'em one at a time). Maybe play like a cowboy cause it is old time cowboy weapon replica in 22LR or 22 MAG caliber. Taurus bought Heritage MFG, but the guns are made in Miami, FL. I am pretty sure based on U-Tube Reviews (basically good gun for the money) and MY WANTS (sometiems wants are needs HA!), that I will buy one tomorrow at Bud's as best price currently around here $119 and includes 1/2 HR FREE Range time. It's a Wants & Needs Thing. So, just posting this for your Information and any KNOWLEDGABLE EXPERIENCEEd COMMENTS -- I probably should wait to buy, but going to jump the gun and do it FRI - maybe SAT. That said, there are a couple issues from reviews per U-Tube: It can be off and only sight adjustment is file / bend front sight (it is old style western fixed sights - like old 45s). Also, saw one bad review when a guy supposedly had one new with cylinder alignment off to point he got lead back in his face (fired 5 rounds before he decided it was a problem - seems strange). Also, only 1 year warranty. By the way it has a safety that keeps hammer from hitting firing pin in case you should drop it or bang the hammer. So, can load all six rounds safely. Also, can get a 22MAG Cylinder to use in same gun for extra $29.99 (interchangeable with 22 LR). List price for Basic 22LR with 4 or 6 inch barrel is $179. Two dealers (Knifeworks and Floyds) in Sevierville, TN has them for $129. Just found out Bud's (Sevierville, TN) has them for $119 and includes 1/2 HR Free Range time. Have heard Sports Academy has Black Friday sales on these every year for $99. Their in stock price today was $179. FORGET THAT.
  4. I am frustrated with a new (new to me - it is used) SW22 Victory I bought TUE at BUD's in Sevierville. Good deal price wise at $249 with 5 Mags (all have the TANDEMKROSS extension), and a "T" Trigger, and a "T" Halo , don't know about the Hammer (if it is or isn't a "T"). Guess about $260 in extras by previous owner. I broke it down TUE and cleaned it up and lubricated it. It looked to be in good shape, not a lot of wear indications. I shot it WED or TRIED TO SHOOT it with all the Failures to Eject (say from 3 to 5 per MAG, did get some MAGS to run 7 and one actually did 10). Many, many, many FTE with all types of AMMO (CCI MINI MAG, CCI Blazer Brass, Aquilla High Velocity, Remington Golden). Found out about all the ejection problems and THE FIX (one fix is to bend the ejector). Seems to work for many folks WHAT I CAN'T find is How To Bend The Ejector. And, whether to bend it IN to center of gun or bend it OUT away from center. I think IN or OUT might be a choice depending on how the ejector fits in the gun. Some said it was not gripping the cartridge Rim (bend it IN) -- Some said it was rubbing as bent in too far (bend it OUT). STILL -- How to efect the Bend??? ALSO, see TANDEMKROSS has after market ejector and a .PDF procedure on how to change it. I would surely appreciate a more detailed discussion on the Bend Method (exactly how to bend the ejector). PS: Other than the eject problems (I kept clearing and shooting for nearly an hour). I like the trigger pull, the accuracy including the sight picture. BTW, Sight picture is always a bit of a problem for me (Bifocals). Probably be nice to have some special shooting prescription glasses to make sight picture better.

    Latest CC Setup

A couple of weeks ago, I got my brand new S&W 442 out of lay-a-way at Harvey's here in Knoxville. Been looking around for a new holster for it. I ended up picking DeSantis Sof-Tuck IWB #106. I got it today from Academy Sports and have been carrying all afternoon. This is my first foray with a IWB holster. I'm pretty impressed do far with the concealablity and comfort! One thing I'm not impressed with though is the durability of the finish on this pistol. It's already picked a couple of scratches. For a Smith, I would have expected a more scratch resistant finish. So far that's the only thing I don't like about this little revolver.
  6. Ok guys I need your help. So after shooting a friends 1911 9mm I think I want one now. It was a great shooter but I don’t want to pay what he paid for his Dan Wesson. I’m looking at buying a used one because normally you can find a pretty well loaded used 1911 for a fair price vs buying a new one. So what are some good brands to look for in the used market? Trying to stay around the 600 range. What would you guys recommend?
  7. All. I am looking to make a gun shopping loop through Middle Tennessee South of Nashville this Saturday. Does anyone have any recommendations for stores that stock Dan Wesson, Night Hawk, Wilson, Ed Brown or others like these. I would really like to put my hands on a Wilson EDC X9 if possible. I'm just tired of looking at the same old guns if you know what I mean.
  8. Ok guys lets hear what you guys think about the difference between these 2 guns. I seen the Sig P320 X-Compact and it looks pretty sweet. Just wondering how you think it compares to the tried and true Glock 19?

  10. I just put a Powder River Precision drop in trigger in my XDM and it made one heck of a difference. I need to take it to the range and see how it feels.
  11. Hey guys, just got a M&P9 Shield 2.0 with manual safety. Was wondering what you guys suggest for some modifications that earnestly improve the handgun.

    Colt

Just got a colt Mark 4 gov. Model series 80 45, made 1988. A few scratches on bright finish. Cleaned up real good, very smooth. Haven't fired yet. I haven't Owen a 1911 be for. Any info on it would be good. Thanks Cuz

  14. So my birthday was this past weekend so a few days before I went to the LGS and picked up a LCR .327 as a present for myself. It's just a gun that just got into my head to buy for the last 3 weeks. Don't know why, I perfectly happy with my LCR .357. Maybe it's the extra round and the fact you can shoot 5 different kinds of ammo. Anyways what ammo is best for cheap practice and ammo is best for self defense? Thanks.
  15. I just saw this while looking at the Security 9 specifications. I never heard or saw it advertised. Kinda neat ! https://ruger.com/products/security9/specSheets/3818.html
  16. It's a 7 shot, 3 inch that is chambered in .32 H&R Magnum. Now my question is why wouldn’t you go just a smidge longer and chamber it in .327 Fed? https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2019/03/18/charter-arms-professional-reveal-at-concealed-carry-expo/

    New 1911

Picked up a new RIA "ROCK" series full size in 45 acp. Already had one from 2012 I got in a trade, 45 acp. Also have a Ruger SR1911 in 45 acp and a RIA "ROCK" full size in 9mm. I have already made some changes, changed out the full length guide rod for a GI type and put the rubber grips on. I like my 1911's to have rubber grips, GI style recoil system and single sided safeties. There is just something about a full size 1911 in my opinion.
  18. I have a Ruger LCPII and it's been great. I am wanting to know if it's a high mileage gun like some guns that go maybe 20,000 rds or so ? I reload and I am thinking about getting some dies to reload the .380ACP to shoot more with my LCP . I just didn't know if these guns are limited to a certain amount of rounds before they start wearing down .
  19. Hey guys I was doing some YouTube watching and I seen a video of hickock45 doing a review of the sig P224. Do any of y’all have your own personal experience on it. Is it a good gun or junk? From what I understand it’s a cut down subcompact version of the 229. Let me know what ya think
  20. I purchased a Tomcat 3032 for my mother thinking the tip up barrel would allow her to load and unload without having to rack the slide, which she has significant difficulty doing due to age (nearing her 70s), as well as grip and arm weakness from spinal surgery and arm surgery. I took It out to the range and unfortunately out of four magazines I had two stovepipes. Maybe mag related, or ammo related (they don’t recommend hotter ammo because of their reputation for cracking the frame) but either way it turned me off to the thing because she won’t realistically be able to clear a malfunction under stress with it, so I plan on revisiting revolvers, which she seems to like and be more comfortable with. Prior to this I had gotten her an Armscor M206, simple, ugly and no frills but it worked. She shot well with it, but wasn’t entirely happy with it so we tried a Ruger LCR, but because it was so light it was quite unpleasant to shoot. She’s not carrying it (for at home) so in retrospect the heavier revolver was the better choice in this case but we had already sold it before trying the LCR unfortunately. So back to the drawing board. I’m a semi auto guy so I don’t know a whole lot about revolvers, was just going to see if I can find another Armscor and be done with it, but thought I would ask here what revolvers are decent for the money and ideally have a little heft to them that would be worth considering. She prefers shorter barrel ones.
  21. TAURUS Rebate of $25 or $30 varies on the Model (color). Typical price on the gun varies from $189.99 up to $209.99. Rural King (RK) is offering it at $179,99 on the all black model (add tax and background in store) and take off the $25 REBATE. NOT BAD for a 12 +1 9MM that I consider a decent gun. Base that on my Millennium G2 bought in 2016 and guess 1000 plus rounds has been reliable and decent shooter for my ability. The G2C is near same gun with one modification (the lock feature has been removed). INFO in case interested --- go to Taurus WEB site for details on REBATE and search for the gun where ever suits you -- RK has advertised the best price as far as I know.
  22. Have any of you guys/gals wondered about a single sided slide stop ? I like some of the Glock Gen 5 changes but I don't like the double sided slide stop. I know I could cut off the other side but wondering what you guy think ? Any information is appreciated.

New to me S&W 25-5 in .45 COLT

This came from an estate I'm helping the widow sell off. I'm not a big fan of wheel guns but for $450.00, I couldn't say no. Bill
  24. Hey guys so I’m kinda in a dilemma here. I normally carry a Glock 19 as my EDC. I’m a big guy at 6’6”. I have no problem concealing my Glock with everyday clothes. The only time I have a trouble is when I wear church clothes or like dress clothes. I was looking at getting like a subcompact or single stack to help this out. What do you guys recommend for this type of application. By the way I had a Glock 43 but hated it as I have big hands and kept getting slide bite. So I sold it and got my Glock 19. Let me know what you guys think would get and why. Thanks!
