Hey 56Fordguy!!

I rolled down Mt. Vernon from the Portland side Saturday on my bike. Without details, is that you at the highpoint up there? You don't have to answer but I think we may have a mutual friend. You know Mr. B Burroughs down towards the Bethpage store? I have hunted his land for years. If you know him you know my brother!

I also saw a lift service truck on Eastgate the other day and thought, maybe that's 56Ford. Van number was 552 or 225 or something... You?

I'll be honest, I'm not quite sure where Mt Vernon is. I've lived up here for going on three years now, but haven't had a lot of time to get out poking around. I'm right off Rock Bridge, not too far from the church.

The van you saw wasn't me, but if you see an old green Ford flatbed running around our area, that sure is.

It's funny how big the "Bethpage" postal delivery area is!! I got family on the north side of Highway 52 between Westmoreland and Portland and they have a Bethpage address.

Mt. Vernon is the road that runs north from the Bethpage Store on Hwy 31. There is an old Bank building across the road that I think is CEMC or some other electric companies aux building. Mt. Vernon runs all the way between 31 and 52. About 3/4 of the way up, Whitson Road runs between Rock Bridge and Mt. Vernon. Your on that same "top" but just a bit south of where I was at. I know that view your seeing!!

You got any turkey you need thinned out in a few weeks?

You're not kidding about the postal area. I'm just barely outside Gallatin, but they call it Bethpage. Not that I mind, though.

I think I know where Mt Vernon is, I at least know where the CEMC building is. Once the weather warms up, and I have the time, I want to take the truck out and learn the immediate area better.

For the turkeys, maybe. Back around the start of deer season I couldn't leave the house without seeing at least 20, now I don't think I've seen one in six weeks or so. Every once in a while I can hear the neighbors calling, though.
