Dumb question

Recommended Posts

This is kind of a dumb question but I have not really seen anything about this before. I bought my first handgun a while back and found the warranty card the other day. How many of you send in your warranty card? Is it something that you normally do or is it like the warranty card on a can opener and you just throw it away?

Thanks,

The only dumb question is that which is not asked.....unless it comes from Punisher84, then they're ALL dumb questions..,.:) Just kidding bro. Anyway, I, like the rest of them have never sent in a warranty card and have never had any problem with warranty service, although that is limited to exactly one gun that I had to send back.

You don’t throw anything away that came with a gun. The box, papers, receipts… nothing.

They make the gun more valuable when you sell it.

As far as the warranty card; it would depend on what your manufacturer requires. I buy Smith & Wessons and you can register them online. Although I don’t think it matters if you register it or not; they will take care of you if something happens.

Thanks,

I just found out that my new Beretta gets a warranty extension - from 1 to 3 years - if I send in the card. For me that's probably going to be enough incentive to actually do so. Generally, I just store them in the box with the manual, lock, etc.
