We will definitely need after auction reports on this!

:(

I've been to one estate auction here in K-town with tons of guns. What they went for was shocking. All I remember was several zip-lock bags with 6 enbloc clips each (for an M1) going for around $30 :)

Is this an estate sale? Will there be a buyers premium?

Cash and carry or will they have to be registered?

No buyers premium

Guns are cash and carry (only restriction is you must be a TN resident)

Wish I could make it,

I wouldnt mind having the Ruger Mk II Stainless 22 LR 5-1/2 or Ruger 77 Mk II 270 if the the prices are right. If someone buys the Ruger Mark II Stainless I will gladly purchase it from you if you decide you dont want it. (depending on price)

I heard this auction was coming up the other day, but I had heard it was in the middle of the week this week so I thought I had missed it. I know exactly where it is, I'm thinkin it's the same guy that has regular yard sales with firearms stuff.

Still not sure if the g/f will let me go or not since we have so much going on this weekend, but I'm gonna try my best to get there. Gun Geek if the Rugers sell worth the money, I will try to pick one up for ya. I'm gonna be in your area Wednesday through Saturday of next week.

That all of course depends on if the g/f gives me permission. I'm kinda on probation with her after I was suppose to sell one of my bikes for vacation spending money last week and ended up trading for more guns instead....

I'm gonna be in Columbia at that time, but for the Jailbreak Triathlon, just my luck. Thanks for the info....

Haha, I did the Jailbreak once. Years ago. It was cold and rainy, perfect weather for that.

As far as the auction, someone pic up that HK for me!

I apologize Gun Geek, but I wasn't able to make it to this. I had to make a road trip last night and didn't get back home until about 4 this morning. I wish I could have made it to this one because with it being opening weekend of bow season, and also raining, if they still were able to hold the auction I'm betting alot of the firearms sold worth the money. Hopefully someone will post up how things went, or if they cancelled it because of all the rain we're getting this morning.

I went.

Well, lets see. A marlin .30-30 336 went for $450. Thats gotta be one of the worse deals I saw. Saw a vanguard go for $650, but, could have had an optic on it that was worth something, I do not know. I doubt it. Saw a remington 442 go for something over $500. There's 3 in a pawn shop in columbia under $300...in better shape. Don't these people ever go to the store?

Outside of some corner case cheap stuff, the best deals (and I say that with chagrin) were probably a 625 S&W in .45 acp for $600 I think. An SKS that went for $230 I think. Think a guy got a para ordinance .45 for $600, dunno which model. Dunno what they go for really, but it looked like a nice piece. The other handguns were all much cheaper new at a gunshop.

I bought a 7mm-08 M700 lightweight barrel for $475 with a bushnell optic thats probably useable. I'm not a fan of used rifles generally. That was my last bid for it, so while I think i did kinda ok, it was no screaming deal. I bid a couple of the other rifles, but dropped out pretty quick.

I went this morning, As Mugster said there were no really good deals. But thats the way the last few auctions I have been to have went. I have seen some guns go for way more than they are worth.

I went as well. Just like Mugster and Papabear said, crazy high prices on most stuff. So for all of you that were bummed that you weren't going to be able to go...you didn't miss out on any real deals. I think most folks didn't know the market value of what they were bidding on.

No sales tax, no buyers premium, no background checks.

I got there early to get a good look on all the pistols with a bore light. I was after 1911's if I could get a, "I stole it price" otherwise I wasn't buying. Overall, the 1911's were in great shape. Both of the Para's looked brand new. One of the best pistols deals was a double stack Para P14.45 limited stainless. It almost looked unfired. My older blue book said it was worth over $900+, it went for $675.

I wrote down most of the prices.

AK47 Semi Auto 7.62 X 39 - $500 - after the first sale I knew it wasn't going to be the auction I hoped for on finding any deals. Dang it was a WASR for crying out loud.

I was there too. What a fiasco. way too many people at someones "house". Cant blame the auctioneers for the rain.. I felt bad for them cause boneheads were trying to go 4wheeling in their Honda civics.. auction staff had to spend time parking cars. An outside auction in a monsoon is no fun at all.

And yea. the prices were bananas. You would think this was the barrett jackson of gun auctions. When I saw that AK go for $500 I started to move out. I left when the 3rd gun came up. I had my eye on the old Marlin 336. Glad I didnt stick around.. you say it went for $410.. and you get get one NEW at Dicks for $349 ($329 on sale) oh well - thats how auctions go sometimes.. Im sure the sellers are partying tonight!

Yeah, I talked to someone that lives in the area that said I didn't miss anything. Sounds about usual though, I haven't been to any auction, yard sale, or even hardly any pawn shops in this area in years that really had much of a deal on anything. Biggest reason for myself going would have been to try to get in on buying some ammo, but I'm sure that followed suit with the high prices.

Its ok Looking at what the rugers went for, I wouldnt have paid that much anyway.. the 22.lr stainless went for almost 400 I cant pay that for a used one when they are almost that new.
