PT1911 refinish

Guys,

A couple of years ago, I picked up a NIB Taurus PT1911 from The Rabbi. Believe it or not, I've never fired the pistol. I was a bit unhappy of the finish, so I planned trade for SS or refinish. All that said, I'm leaning toward refinishing. Does anyone have any suggestions for a reasonably priced solution? I'd prefer something local to avoid FFL shipping.

Thanks,

Mark

This is 1200 degree paint (engine header paint, $7.99 a can at Autozone) on a 6906. Honestly, it wears great. If you get to the point that you don't like it, dunk it in some MEK.

I just bought a can of this and used it to refinish a Sig 225 mag. I followed directions and baked it at three different temps and let it cure about another week before I touched it.

So far, I have inserted into an empty gun over a hundred times with little sign of wear. If it works well, I intend to finish a Smith 908 Slide.
