Um. Perhaps.

Point is, if you live on campus and this is your "residence" can they ban you from owning?

Probably in the same manner a landlord can ban you from owning guns on their rented property. (AG Opinion)

I don't see it being sustained. If an individual has a right to keep and bear arms, then any restrictions on that right are subject to strict scrutiny. Under 'strict scrutiny' there has to be a constant and compelling reason to deny that right. That means the antis will have to PROVE that people are safer in gun-free zones than in other places.

The problem is the cost and effort involved in challenging these laws. It is much cheaper and easier to change the law than to get them overturned in court.
