I have little to no interest in the SCAR rifles until FNH starts allowing the sales of SBR barrels (or any replacement barrel for that matter) to civilians. :stick: x 2

Have not shot the 7.62 but the 5.56 version is the best 5.56 gun I have ever fired. I have had many custom AR's some Sig 556's and an LWRC and the SCAR in 5.56 beats them all IMHO. It is lighter, has less recoil, folding stock, and is more accurate. Price sucks, but it is no worst than any other "high end" 5.56 and 7.62 rifles these days. Not that they deserve that premium either.

Mike:

I will let you know when mine arrives but they are supposed to be compatible with FNAR! I do not need another type of weapon specific magazines in 308.

That will suck if they are FNAR mags.....$65-$75 is crazy...I know because I just bought an FNAR...lol. I sure hope Magpul's fit as they are only $18-$20. FN is all about proprietary mags for some reason. Are they afraid people might stick a well made, affordable aftermarket mag in their gun and actually enjoy the firearm more because of it. Thank goodness Magpuls work in the SCAR 16.

Either way I can't wait to shoot Desert Rat's when it comes in later this month. I love my SCAR 16, can't wait to see what the .308 is like. I'm not exactly sure what Desert Rat paid for his but it's better than the $2800 price. I think it was about $2600, but I'm not 100%, you'll have to ask him.

I can't believe the bids are over $2900 already on the Gunbroker ad. I'm sure they will be low stock for a little while, but not like when the first SCAR's were on the market a couple years ago. I guess if money is no object and you want one you'll pay the cheddar, however if shops like where Desert Rat ordered his can get them, then any store should be able to if they have good connections.

I got my CDNN catalog yesterday and they are showing the SCAR 17s and 16s. They are both "Call for Price" though.

Most everything from FN is POR, or price on request. At least that's what my local store tells me when I call about FN goodies.

Used to they would print most of their prices except for the FN prices. I was told it was because they are a FN distributor and didn't want to make the local stores mad. Didn't work i don't think.:screwy:

Damn..I wouldnt have one of those things. Who in the hell designs guns these days. No need for a weapon to be that costly, and that damn ugly.
