I apologize, I don't tend to translate well in text.

I didn't mean it as any medical professional would let someone die just because of donor status. A family member is a trauma doctor; the discussion was basically that statistically less time and resources are used when there is known donor status. I know it doesn't matter in the end, because brain death isn't reversible.

BUT, myth or not, I'm not marking my drivers license, my husband and parents know my feelings about organ donation and won't have a problem following my wishes.

Again not entirely accurate a lot of people who become organ donors have suffered critical injuries that make their care very difficult and labor intensive to manage. This is being done while everything else is being done in the background to facilitate the donation process.

When my father died, we were unable to donate his organs due to multiple problems he had, bad heart, diabetic, long time alcoholic.

We were however able to donate his skin for burn patients and bone, cartilage and tendons.

It feels good know that even though we had thought we couldn't help anyone due to the main organ damage he already suffered, there were many many people helped with what we were able to donate.

I just want everyone to keep these things in mind.

They are not the foremost donations you think of.

They are very important also , though!

I constantly try to donate my organ. Usually results in a drink to the face, and frequently a hard slap.

Seriously though, organ donation is a good plan for everyone. You just never know.
