Wal Mart works out cheaper for ammo that's not even reloaded compared to Hoer.. 100 rds WWB: $23.00 so $230 for 1k

Or if you get the CCI Brass, that stuff is $20 for 100, so $200 for 1000.

That Hoer Gear's 9mm prices are ridiculous.

Actually that place is very high on all their prices considering the stuff is reloaded. A few trips to Wal Mart before you go and you could save $70+ dollars on new ammo.

If you go with CCI Blazer from Academy, 9mm is even cheaper (unless it's gone up over the past few weeks). Last time I was there, I got 1000rds for about $135. My 19 has had some issues with it, so I don't know if I'd use it for a class, but for the range it's ok.

That is still very expensive compared to WWB or CCI at Wal Mart. $2 ammo can considered.

The prices I have found at my Wal Mart:

100 WWB .45 ACP: $22.68

100 CCI Brass 45 ACP: $19.90

100 9mm WWB 9mm 115gr: $12.60

100 9mm CCI Brass: Just under $11.

do da maf

FYI... for some reason the prices at your Wal-Mart are about $1.00 - $2.00 cheaper per 50rds than they are in a lot of other areas of Tennessee. Hornet Handler told me that the ammo was cheaper out there too.

Carry the gun and gear you are most likely to have in a gunfight. I would also recommend you quit carrying two different types of guns.

Completely agree. Train with what you're going to carry. Especially for a high-quality class like this - if you normally carry a .45, then bite the bullet and buy a case of good-quality factory-new .45 for the class. Plinking at the range for fun is the time and place for cheaper stuff.

 Yup, I know people with 12,000 rounds in their closet.

Dang! Thats alot of ammo to be in their closet. I dont even have enough room in my closet for 12,000 rds.:D

I guess it depends on the person. I have about 1200 rounds total at my house as I write this (counting a 500 box of .22lr). Many people consider that pathetically low, others as reason to call the authorities. On the other hand, a friend and fellow instructor has an inventory in his basement that puts Bass Pro to shame, and he claims he's had more in the past.

So, I guess "bulk is in the eye of the beholder?"

So, anyone else want to do this class? It's going to be a great opportunity to meet other forum members and get in some good training.

FYI, my wife dropped out of the class, but my brother in law plans to take her place. Do we have a confirmed attendee list??

I'm officially out. Due to expenses that are being redirected toward the birth of my 4th child, I will have to wait awhile. But you guys have fun.:pleased:

How do you even afford the internet?:(

Just kidding!

The cost will be $350 each for TGO members and their spouses. We'll close the class at 12 students.

Sign in here if you ARE planning to register.

So is that $350 for the couple, or $700 for the couple? Is it $175 for a single attendance!

You said $350 for members and their spouses, so is that cut in half if we come alone?

Im confused I guess!
