Well, Dad and I attended another Appleseed event over the weekend. It was more fun than I have had in a while. Dad got frustrated with his rifle, though we narrowed it down to a bad scope. He would get it sighted in perfectly and the next time he picked it up it would be 6-8 inches off at 25yrds. I'll admit I probably would have just chucked my rifle downrange if it had been me. He kept a cooler head though, I am proud of him.

At the end of the first day, the Shoot Boss asked if anyone was ready and willing to accept an Orange Hat (designates you as an Instructor In Training (IIT)). To be eligible you have to attain the score of Rifleman, 210/250pts on an Army Qualification Target (AQT), and attend at least two events. I did the score in July at my first Appleseed, and this was my second one to attend. I stepped up and said that I would be honored to accept the hat/title. I was asked if I would like to jump right in and help work the line on Sunday, day 2. I agreed and had even more fun the second day.

Here is a pic of me accepting the hat, I am the behemoth in the blue shirt, on the right.
