Car carry?

I don't typically carry any additional firearms, but I do have a bugout bag with some basic essentials including a good survival knife and ways to provide myself with food, water, and shelter. I also have a nice camp axe and a really nice (considering what it is) military entrenching tool. I think it is German, but it has a really heavy wood handle, a solid pick, and a decent size shovel blade. It would be great for many uses, including a blunt force weapon in an emergency. I also carry a collapsible baton that I used when I was a cop.

I do have a metal lock box in case I do need to leave my firearm in the truck. I need to get a larger one so it will fit a full-size pistol. I also have a Kel Tec Sub 2000 that I can easily carry with me if the need came up.

Just so you know, unless you have the "license" for that you can't carry it. It's stupid, but even with a HCP you can't carry a baton unless you have the required training and license.

You don't actually have to have a "license" just something that shows you've had training with it. Since he says he was a LEO I assume he has had such training.

I don't have anything cheap enough to risk getting stolen, even my $200 HP carbine would hurt, 'cause can't just trot down to a local gunstore and replace it..

+ 1 I don't want to even leave a republic arms patriot in my vehicle "its intended purpose" for fear "murphy's law" will intervene

I lost a nice S&W model 60 this way to a POS who rumaged the cars in our "secure" neighborhood
