I just don't see how you could go wrong with a Springfield XD45 Compact w/4" barrel.

It will hold 10 rounds and has a 13 round extended mag. You will still have a good size grip and it is a VERY reliable gun.

I really don't see the need for an XDM ($200 more) and at 20yds or less, you will not lose any accuracy.

I can make a 2" group at 20 yds with my XD Sub-Compact w/3" barrel.

I'm sure this will elicit cries of "Blasphemer!!" but my cold weather/heavy clothes EDC is a Glock 38 .45 GAP.

Why the GAP? Because I have girlie-sized hands and I reload (and already have stockpiled a life-time supply of factory brass).

The 38 has an 8-round mag but virtually all will hold nine. All six of my mags function perfectly with 9, which gives me a 10-round basic load.

The Beretta Storm line of firearms is like a gaggle of friendly fat girls. You don't mind talking to them, but you don't really want anyone seeing you do it.

Lol your crazy I love the Storms and I'd only talk to the fat girls so I could get to their hot friends lol
