S&W Mdl 41 Customized

Recommended Posts

I got this Mdl 41 awhile back. It had some pitting and chipped grips. I sent to Eric Kovachic at EWK Arms and he machined the slide to give it a ventilated rib. He also did a Dan Wesson front sight conversion so I could swap out front sight blades. He also drill and tapped the slide for a mount if I wanted to put a optic on it. He then polished and blued the entire top end. According to my scales it dropped almost three ounces of the pistol. I then finished up with some Altamont Custom Rosewood Grips.

I like the way it turned out. It is a shooter also. I think Eric did a wonderful job.

He is in the process of making/developing a field barrel with a suppressor mount. I could of had the suppressor mount machined into this one for and additional $95.00. I decided to wait on the field barrel which will be shorter in length.

I'd have to buy another 41 to do it... I've got one that was a gift from my Dad - I just wouldn't modify it. So while the mods might be less expensive than they look, add on the cost of a S&W 41 and it gets pretty pricey!

I do love the look. The idea of a second slide for a suppressor has me intrigued. That might be a possibility in the near future.
