So the report is that Sen Kennedy has a malignant brain tumor, which caused his recent seizure.

I am sorry about that. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Typically people with brain tumors last about 6 months. I sincerely hope he beats it and makes a recovery.

And then I hope he decides that he'd rather spend time with his family than in the Senate, because among senators I'd like to see retired his name is way up there.

Ted Kennedy is a walking talking example of why there should be term limits. That being said, I feel for him and his family.

After over 40 years in the same job, I'd say he can go enjoy his retirement and his grandkids now while someone else takes over.

Ted is probably in my top five favorite (living) senators. Hung out on the left, but crossed the aisle more and more in later years to do what needed to be done. Sad to see the liberal lion brought down in this way. (Brain tumors are not nice at all.)

Before all the right-wingers get all fired up, I would tend to think that the chances of Massachusetts electing a strident pro-2A defender are pretty slim. My guess is that Kennedy will anoint a successor and the people of the commonwealth will dutifully vote for him/her as if their last name was Kennedy.
