Williamson county hunters: I need a favor

Recommended Posts

Any of you deer hunters in my area, I need a favor. I need antler pieces for knapping. Some small points about three or four inches long for pressure flaking and maybe even some larger base sections for small mallets. I don't care, beggars can't be choosers.

Please

Funny, I need a point as well for boning leather...

Okay, most of us know what you meant but I don't think I would make that statement publicly.

BtW: Anyone who has pieces of antler, talk to Caster first, I just thought I'd hop since I was looking as well. Sorry for the hijack, Caster.

Caster; these three antlers I think will fit your needs. They have some minor squirrel knawings on them (damn tree rats) but are about 75% usable. If these will fit your needs, they're yours! They are fairly stout and came off nice 8 pointers.

If not, I'll dig up some more.

gjohnsoniv; This heavy shed should fit your "boning" needs just right. If you want them, they're yours!
Should go with that nice deer hide I gave you!

Caster; your box shipped today with an expected delivery date of Saturday. Enjoy! Please don't cut your finger on sharp flint, cause it sorta hurts!

THank you!

That's a real possibility. I don't have any flint to work with yet, but I have several large chunks of obsidian. Obsidian produces just about the sharpest edge known to man. No steel ever made can be sharpened as sharp. Kinda scary
