Place I Can Paint A Car

Recommended Posts

I am working on my mother's 1998 Mercury Sable and gettting it ready to paint.  Car has 52,000 original miles on it and it runs and drives great.  It was a gift to her from her boss.  It's only need?  New paint!  And I'm about a month out from "shooting" it.

Does anyone know of a building, garage space, etc., anything that I could rent for a weekend to paint the car?  Thought I had a contact and it fell through.  I am in south Nashville, but could go anywhere reasonable.

What Dolomite said. You wont be able to buy the paint for what they will charge to do the whole job. If your prep work is good it will come out fine. If your prep work isn't right it doesn't matter who paints it, it wont be right.

As for doing your own prep work, I have heard at some places is a requirement. I don't know the shop  and it was at least 15 years ago a friend told me about a place that would paint any car for 100.  They did zer0 prep.  They painted over dirt, windows, anything that was in the way.

He had used them and did his own prep and was happy.  He said he saw other jobs that he would not have been so happy with due to little prep.

Sounds like they found an Earl Scheib shop.

"I'm Earl Scheib, and I'll paint any car, any color for $29.95. No ups, no extras."

Your ideas are great, but I've painted many a car . . . just need a good garage I can rent for 2 days

Sometimes it's best to do it yourself to get it done right. I hope you find a place.
