Seriously if your shopping now, buy about triple what you think you will use, I'm gonna have to take my ammo out if I buy a couple more guns. I wish I would have went larger. At least I have both fire and water protection.

I completely agree. I bought one of those Lowes or Home Depot basic gun safes. Locks up the guns, papers and a few eirlooms but no fire protection and I ran out of space two purchases later.

ALSO (yea, its a big one) cheaper style safes dont have enough room built into them to let scoped rifles stand with the barrel in the slotted holder. The scope sets against the back of the safe and the rifle sort of flops against the one next to it. Generally sucks. Better than no safe.

ioerror is right. Get a monster the first time out.

Yes, although I am in the same boat as others and am running out of space. +1 on the "Buy a bigger safe than you think you will ever need". I have outgrown mine much faster than I wanted to (inherited a bunch of cool stuff unexpectedly.)

I totally agree with the size of the safe. If can't afford a bigger one.........wait and save for it...........you will be MUCH happier in the long run. NOBODY is satisified with the first safe they buy.........guns and tatoo's are addicting....and doritos.
