Painted the AR

So made the jump and sprayed one of my ARs flat khaki and flat dark forest green. The green looks more grey/green than green which I like. I know some don't like krylon on guns but this is kind of a beater AR so figured I would try something different. Considering I've never painted anything in my life I am pretty happy with how it turned out. This gun will never be sold so figured I didn't have to worry about resale value.

I sprayed one of mine a little while back and it looks very similar to yours. I think yours turned out quite well. I didn't use Krylon brand paint but I have shot mine 3 times since painting it and it all seems to be holding up well so far painted barrel and all. I hope yours works out the same.

If thats a beater id like to see what your pristine black rifles are. Great paint job! Hehe I like that 18volt Dewalt/magpul combo.

Lol, yeah the 18volt battery powers the optic through a Magpul adapter (they make everything). A little heavy but provides a nuclear glow for those really sunny days.

Beater AR was probably a poor choice of words. I really meant that this rifle gets beat on a lot, it's been a great rifle. M&P15t I got back in I think 2007, it has been through a lot. I in no way meant it was of poor quality, the M&P line rifles are what I always recommend when people ask me.

Oh forgot to mention I used Krylon as a generic term, I actually used Rustoleum camo paint. Edited by cch2a
