Are 1911 Magazines Interchangable

This may be a really dumb question. I picked up a Dan Wesson PM-47 1911 this past weekend and I need to pick up some more mags.

I've googled but can't find out the answer to my question - are all .45ACP 1911 magazines interchangable?

Midway USA has a sale on Springfield mags for like $7p/p.

If not - anyone know where I can pick up some spare mags?

Thanks

They are interchangeable, yes (as long as it is not a double-stack, high-capacity gun). But not all 1911 mags are created equal.

I have some of those Springfield mags, and they have been the source of many failures in several 1911s I've used them in. I will give them to you if you really want them. (I have 3). Not worth the $7 apiece, IMO.

Thanks for the tip. I guess you get what you pay for.

Thanks for everyone's input.
