There is a little BBQ place on Signal Mtn Rd (Blvd or whatever it is) right in front of Tire World that is pretty good.Right across from the school entrance.

I will be printing out some of these >targets< for anybody that wants to participate in the contest.I will have several,so just ask!

mmm... haven't had good BBQ in a while.

It's not looking good for me to have the AR in hand Sunday. If it ships tomorrow, it might be at my place Friday, but that'd be lucky. :meh:

Might take you up on the shooting challenge target. Heck, I might even take some photos this time around. I brought my camera to the last shoot at CHRPC, and proceeded to take like one photo.

EDIT: Well I'll be damned, I just got the sip notification.

:lol::D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

The directions on that site only gives directions from Suck Creek Rd.

Here is how to get to Suck Creek Rd.

From Dayton take Highway 27 and get off at the Red Bank/Signal Mtn Rd exit.

Turn Right onto Signal Mtn Rd and travel about a mile and a half.

Turn left onto Suck Creek Rd

Suck Creek Rd is the last road on the left before you head up Signal Mountain. You should see a small Sub Way just before you turn.

If you have a GPS I could give you the gps correndence (sp?) that will take you all the way to the parking lot.

Does this help?

Cool!

Mousegunners directions are spot on from Suck Creek on,so just follow those from there on,and you'll get there :D

One thing with my directions though.I'm not 100 percent sure about the distance from the H27 exit to Suck Creek.

I'm going by memory.

Its not far from the BiLo,and like said, just past the SubWay(which is on the right)

If you have any problems just call me!

Guys,I wont be able to meet for lunch.Looks like I will be eating Sun AM just before we meet up.

So, is anyone meeting for lunch icon5.gificon5.gif:D

There didn't seem to be a lot of interest in it, so I just kind of let it die. But I'm going to give that BBQ joint strick mentioned a try- in front of Tire World. I'l be there about 1 if anyone else cares to drop by. Just look for the guy in the red NCSU ballcap.

Well I wanted to go today and meet some of you folks, but we found out this morning that a friend of ours had to take their daughter to TC Thompson's Friday and she has been in the hospital all weekend. So we went to the hospital this afternoon to visit and help them carry everything out as she was able to go home about 3pm.

Oh well, maybe next time.

It was a hoot! I especially liked the Sig 556 I got to play with, even though I couldn't hit anything with it.

I did manage to catch enough brass to make a trip to the scrap yard tomorrow though! :screwy:

and it was nice to put some names and faces to people

Not in Gutterboys case! :poop:

There was a couple guys shooting a shotgun just before I left.

I dont think they really care as long as the stands are not destroyed, but I still wouldn't shoot one with the way Ranger Smith was running around earlier on his tantrum

Sorry about that, man

Actually I got a kick out of it............besides,this will give me some good leverage :screwy:

What was the rangers tantrum about?

I didn't see him throw a tantrum. He did, however, ask folks to add their names to a log he was keeping to show how much usage the range was getting. He said that funding for the range was being cut because it wasn't used enough- which was pretty funny, considering that I was out there an hour before I was even able to pull a trigger. The place was friggin packed.

Thanks, i hadnt been there in a few yrs. but the ranger at that time would

drive by the outside, maybe every few hrs.

I do remember from the time it opened in 99, the neighbors wanted to close it down and there were articles in the paper about it.

Taking names does have me concerned, a lot on one hand, you just never know!

Does anybody know, if they ever want to check you guns, on an official level? I guess they could do that, and from all i had heard it happ. on a reg. basis all over the country during the last ban!

Thank You.

Actually, the ranger was a very reasonable fellow, and quite restrained when admonishing the group down on the pistol range. A bunch of guys were shooting shotguns, which is against the rules. They were also using the shotguns to shoot the target stands, which is also against the rules.

Regarding the sign-in sheet, he told me that he needs to show the bean counters that the range is being used, because they're wanting to cut the range budget. He said that he didn't care if he got 50 "John Does" signing the sheet, as long as he can show that the public is using the facility.
