Lead for Sale near Knoxville, Tn

Recommended Posts

First and foremost, happy father's day out there to all you dads!

I did a Google search and couldn't find any straightforward scrap lead dealers. Ebay and Amazon are out of the question. Anyone know where I can find some? Shipping prices for buying online are generally a deal breaker since the prices go up around $4/lb if not more. I've heard the magic number was $1/lb but that price seems to have gone the way of the dodo. What's a good price for scrap lead or pre-made ingots?

I would still flux ingots before casting, so I don't mind making ingots from range lead.

I'm willing to drive to Alcoa, Maryville, Louisville, hell, pretty much anywhere within an hour of Knoxville.

Thanks for any info you can give me.

Noble metals in Oak Ridge used to, not sure if they still do. You can buy 5 gallon buckets of birdshot from them. I don't remember the price but give them a call Monday.

"The Captain" on the cast boolits forum in the vendor sponsor area has nice clean lead and it's closer to $1 a lb.

+1 for The Captain, she has good clean lead in either range scrap or wheel weight ingots and her prices are right close to $1 a lb. Edited by Omega
