Very good vid. Even tho I'm not an AR type guy I could follow this and install a barrel. Good point on setting the torque wrench at 90 deg. There is a way to use it straight on but this is alot easier without all the math. great job. Thanks for the post. Even tho I'm old I like learning new stuff.

I have a question- I had thought about using blue Loctite on the screws holding the handguard to the barrel nut fearing they may loosen over time, but couldn't find a definitive answer online. I noticed you didn't use it, but what do you think?
Top notch work, and high quality video and narration.

Yeah, I would have put blue locktite on the handrail hardware as well but I take mine apart often...lol

Glad you liked the video!

Yeah, I know there is a formula but why do it if you don't need to. Thats something I picked up as a Blackhawk mechanic.

I have to second others comments. Your attention to detail with the captions is very handy for for us AR novices to see and understand what you are explaining. Just so you know those of us in the Navy also used the gudentight torques on occasion as well. Mainly on the wrench arc tq specs. :)

Yeah it seams only the other aviation mechanics have pointed that joke out so far...lol

Im still a novice myself bud and I learn more with every build. I like to "spread the wealth" of info as I get it and was kinda yelled at for sharing the Indian Head Gasket bedding compound secret..lol

I have used Indian Head gasket sealer to rebuild my 65 GMC pickup. I used cereal  boxes and Indian Head, worked like a champ. :)

A little insight into the barrel swap video.....I didn't actually use the gasket sealer or bed this barrel because of the receiver extension being in the way.
