So Im getting the urge to purchase another pistol. I would like either another 9mm or maybe purchase my first .45. These are the only two calibers im leaning towards at this time. So I guess what im looking for from you all is some suggestions. Honestly I would really really would like to have a PPS in 9mm but I dont think I will find one in my price range unless I can find a used 1. Either way lmk what you all have & like in either of those calibers. Any help or suggestions on a .45 would be appreciated esp since Ive never even shot a .45.

Well in the .45 category, you can get a Rock Island Armory for under $500. The tactical version is usually around $450 if they aren't gouging the price. RIA's are about the best deal going in 1911s at the moment.

Centerfire has them at $399 atm. Not bad.

SARCO has the GI for 319.00, Tactical for 384.00. 15.00 for shipping.

Surprised no one's mentioned the Springfield XD. 13 rounds in a clip, really as accurate as a nice 1911 (basically the same gun if you crack it open and look inside,) and they're running about 450 or less since the xd is being replaced by the xd(m)

Hot damn, I'd jump on that.

Hell, if you don't I'd love to buy it back at 350.

Id feel baad doing that to him. Hes supposed to leave for the Navy in the Feb. I may see if he wants to get rid of it before he ships out.

If I was just looking for a multipurpose pistol, without a specific task in mind, I think I might go with an S&W M&P in the caliber of choice. Possibly a CZ-75, the Rock Islands are a good choice also. I saw a PT 1911 Taurus on AR15.com in Chattanooga I believe for $425 FTF, I've heard good things about them.

Actually I've been thinking pretty hard about a m&p 45. It's at the top of my list. I would just really like to shoot 1 first. If not that a used PPS 9mm would fit the bill

I would like a PPS in .40, but for around 600.00 plus I can wait.

eexactly. Extremly overpriced from the factory or dealers are making a mint. I really like the little pocket pistols.
