  1. Barrel will be free floating. What do you mean varmint bullets? Like lighter grain bullets for hunting squirrels and such? Will a 1/9 shoot the heavier bullets like 77gr?
  2. Someone told me that a 1/7 twist in a 20" barrel was bad and that a 1/9 twist was better. Can anyone give me some more info on which is better? I will really only be shooting for fun. I won't be doing anything super marksmanship like. I may go hunting with it once or twice just to see what it does to a deer but that's seriously about it. I don't really have any specific ammo that I'll be using. More than likely just Federal or other cheap .223 and some Federal green tipped 5.56 rounds. Maybe some Z (V) Max rounds also. I don't reload right now and I may about 5 years or so in the future but I don't have any aspirations to do it currently.
  3. I'm pretty sure it's because it's a large sporting good store. If you want to really see something funny, take a look at their "sales" http://slickdeals.net/da/mem-i/p51806402/k43105/u246116/r-9999
  4. I honestly don't know but I know that now, all Dick's ammo is now in Aloca. I don't know why but they claimed it was due to the "remodel" and they put something else where the hunting section used to be. When did Academy open up? I thought that was the case but couldn't remember.
  5. Called CCA and they do not have any. Couldn't get Predator but calling them again today to see.
  6. Nice. I can't wait. Here's what I got so far. Lower Receiver Lower Parts Kit Magpul MIAD Grip Magpul STR Stock PSA Buffer Tube Kit Upper Receiver Upper Parts Kit Charging Handle Gas Block Barrel Free Float Quad Rail As far as I know, I'm missing the BCG and Gas Tube unless you see something else. I've got the BCG on order though but it won't be here until September I went with the LMT Full Auto Standard BCG. I'd like one now but all seem to be out of stock in the $130 or lower range.
  7. And my upper receiver came in the mail today! Just a few more parts left...the anticipation is killing me
  8. Tell me about it. On a positive note, the Enhanced BCG's are still available for the extra low price of $220+ Thanks for the correction. Oh well, at least since I've got no choice but to wait, I know I'll get the exact BCG that I want for my build.
  9. Wow...thanks guys. I didn't actually know all of that stuff. I looked it since you guys were talking about it. Apparently, the feed ramps are cut into the barrel and any feed ramps cut into the upper receiver is the "extended" feed ramps because it's "extended" from the barrel into the receiver . Now to wait 2 months until my BCG comes in stock
  10. Ha ha ha...I did order one. Well, originally, I wasn't going to order one until next week because I wanted to buy the BCG first. However, I waited one day and they all got sold out so now I have the upper receiver and gas block and no BCG Yay...and here's the best part... Restock time is about 2 months Edit: And it seems it gets worse. PSA is out of stock of gas tubes. So i can get the roll pin and the charging handle but no tube. I can order the tube elsewhere but shipping kills it
  11. I agree with you. It's not a wink and a nod. A wink and a nod doesn't normally come with a misdemeanor charge.
  12. So far, the Yankee Hill Low Profile Gas Block is the only one I've really looked into. It will fit under my quad rail and the barrel has the same bore hole dimension so it matches up.
  13. If you get a chance to make a trip to Knoxville, the WM's in Turkey Creek and Gallagher View had the 550 round packs of Federal when I stopped by on Friday and Sunday.
  14. Are they the extended feed ramps? Yeah I went to Joe Bobs first and every upper receiver under $150 is on backorder. Same with BCG's from there Btw, guess which parts I'm missing... Upper Reciever BCG Gas Block Gas Tube I'm not 100% and I've been meaning to ask you, does the tube brand matter? Also, I've never in my life seen so many charging handles. Pick one out for me
  15. Okay. I'm hitting the point where I'm pretty tired of waiting for PSA's Complete Upper Receivers to come back in stock but the price is so attractive at $100-$110. Can anyone else recommend another. I've seen lots of stripped upper receivers but for some reason when you add in the parts, it jumps up $40+ so the $80 upper is now $120. Also, here's a question about the parts. Are the upper parts just the forward assist assembly and ejection port assembly?
  16. I think it's the OR Walmart as well. The one on Clinton Hwy (Knoxville) always has crap tons of 22 in stock. At least 20 boxes of both the Winchester 555 round boxes and the Federal 550 round boxes. There's a bunch of other 22 as well. However, the things they can't ever keep in stock are the 100 round boxes of Federal 9mm and 40. However, a bunch of times, they just don't refill the shelf and keep the spare boxes under the counter so you have to ask for them. I haven't seen the 5.56 in a long time. I saw it only at the Walmart by East Town Mall but when I actually went back to buy it, they were all gone.
  17. So I go into bbandt on Kingston pike and I look at the door loosely and don't see a posting sign. I start walking and look down at the ground and at the bottom of the bloody door is a little red sign, that I had to actually go up to the door to make out the pistol in the gun buster sign, from your car it looks like a cigarette. Glad I canceled my account with them a looonnngg time ago.
  18. I don't know about on your account but on mine, I can list 100 items for free each month with no insertion fee. However, you have to pay a fee based on the money you take in. You can use the shipping to try and offset your fees but if I'm not mistaken, eBay got tired of people doing that because it really screws the buyer so now your final value fee is based on the total of ending value + shipping so you can't really escape it. The final value fee is 9% but then since eBay makes you use Paypal, you have to pay a fee now on Paypal. I think it's 2.9% and that's if they don't use a debit/credit card. Honestly, I only sell things on eBay that will at least go for $50 or more. Otherwise it's CL all the way. Also, you don't pay sales tax unless you set it up as such when you list the item. If you don't mind me asking, what all are you putting up for sale?
  19. This is really interesting. I love the rumor mill surrounding this as well. Here's my rumor mill from a reliable source. Apparently the guy went in and rented a firearm. He got the box of ammo and went inside the range and then blam to the face. However, he's still alive and because of that, it's being investigated as a crime. In the person who reported this to me beliefs, if it was suicide that went wrong. Next, we should hear about how he aimed at the target and the bullet went down range and came back and hit him in the face.
  20. I think it's crap to to just put up rules and not actually post properly. It's like they are saying "don't carry but please...do carry" and then penalizing you if someone sees that you're printing. I say if you're going to post, post the right way and be done with it. I am more than happy to never shop there again. Very good point. I hate improper postings. *cough cough* Simon Malls *cough cough*, It's like they don't want your business but they do......
  21. I've gotta be honest. I'm happy that the guy can quote the law to the police. However, I hope he understands the full rulings and has actually spent time researching them to understand the entire outcome.
  22. Don't worry. I didn't get the email this morning either. I just happened to see it on Slickguns.
