  1. yep, the one with security training in the back.
  2. i was almost certain the 6.8 had the advantage in ballistics. i am talking about factory loaded ammo here, not handloads or reloads
  3. what would be a better medium caliber choice for an AR? 6.8x43mmSPC or 7.62x39mm? which one has better self-defense ammo? forget the magazine choices and the fact that surplus 7.62 is dirtier than 6.8 or that 7.62 is cheaper than 6.8 or anything else. just ammo thanks
  4. i only do business with one gun shop anymore, my other local gunshop has maybe 30 total guns in stock and treat you like its a privelege for you to be able to walk in their establishment(tullahoma). and the local pawnshop/gunshop has very high prices(manchester). for me there is a very fine line between the employees being very aggravating by asking me constantly "can i help you". and not acknowledging me. i only want to be asked if i need help 1) when i first walk through the door, and 2) when i come to the counter(s), i dont need someone looking over my shoulder, and waiting to ask if i need help everytime i pick up a gun. i would really like to see more guns in the open to pick up and hold and see how they fit your hand
  5. legally this is one of the precise reasons to get a sound suppres... errrr, i mean you should never break the law intentionally.
  6. IE gives description of the thread for me too, otherwise i would have NEVER opened this thread.
  7. one one hand id take the superduty as you can "make" people get out of your way when you try to leave. on the other hand, at most nascar races, they have reserved motorcycle parking up front, so either or. EDIT: nevermind on the motorcycle parking, i though you meant the bmw bike not a car. either or would be OK take your own cooler of drinks. when i went to nashville superspeedway, a longneck domestic beer was $9 each. soft drinks were about $3 for a 12oz. can, IIRC. food is as bad if not worse. you are allowed 1 cooler per person. take a cushion to sit on, the bleachers get uncomfortable after several laps. if taking wife and/or kids, take some ear plugs/muffs it is quite loud at times. i think id check their policy about carrying before id attempt it, with as much alcohol as there is there.
  8. the new wording just says that ones that are manufactured before the ban effectiveness date are "grandfathered in" and that you can sell and trade them. at least that is how i understood it. and that you arent going to be able to buy ones manufactured after the ban took effect
  9. that is what i dont understand, there are guys that go to my local range and bolt their rifle in the vice/rest and go for 5-shot groups, week after week, so i know its not just sighting in their rifle. really seems pointless to me. and even moreso with a pistol, why?
  10. anything that would be banned will go up. other than that though i wouldnt get it for a high return on my investment, if any at all, but its a hell of a lot better than collecting stamps!
  11. if i had to pick any weapon for zombie defense, id probably go with a ar-15 with a .458socom upper on it. with a .45 acp handgun as backup.
  12. knock-down power - .45acp reliability - most all calibers are good with .357sig having a small margin of lead because of bottelneck casing design. cost - 9mm overall rating - .40S&W or .45acp in my book remember a .22LR in your hand is better than a .44mag in the safe. i see the .32acp and .380acp as pocket gun calibers when you need deep concealment. i like 9mm for a range only gun but many use it for self-defense also. .357sig is a more expensive round, more than any of the others. similar capacity as 9mm and .40S&W in same gun. highly penetrative round. .40S&W is a very common caliber for selfdefense and quite adequate. it is the minimum i would carry as a primary in semiauto. .45acp is the standard for self-defense in a semi auto. great knockdown power, good capacity, very reliable. my personal favorite round
  13. the taurus .45 with the taurus .40 in second. personally id choose different weapons as i dont really care for the guns you listed but caliber and reliability is most important to me when gun shopping
  14. you clicked the links didnt you?
  15. there is one in manchester that goes to 333 yards
  16. that looks ok i guess, but uh, where's the rest of it? nice lookin lower mad, good start to a solid build. any specs on the rest of it?
  17. i always heard point blank was 7-9", that was referring to a handgun though. figured it was the same for long guns, although i cant say i have heard of pointblank range being referred to when talking long guns. anyways i will stick with 00 buck and slugs
  18. i like it just where i am, manchester. 1 hr from nashville, about 30-45min. from murfreesboro. great scenery, love the view of the mountains. there is woods reservior(15min. from me), timsford lake(30min. max) very close, and tn river/nickajack lake about 1.5hrs.
  19. i think it covers the lube and protection charge
  20. i really like the S&W 1911's. i held a sig in the gun shop and it feels really nice. im sure STI is nice but they only have 1 or 2 that appeal to me. i say anyone of the three will work just fine
  21. ive had this happen to me before, not in a gun shop but the same thing. you just know it aint right to let it go so you have to correct them.
  22. yea but if you have a laser you can just point it on the BG and he will be scared away:stir:
  23. i hope you mean 3" not 3' no way is a full choke shotgun going to spread to 3' in 1foot or less(point blank range)
  24. 00 buckshot and slugs alternating. or some prefer #4 shot
  25. what? no 10mm?
