So if background checks will be mandatory at gun shows, I assume they mean the booths inside, so person to person with your "friends" outside is still good to go?

Downtown Nashville bars posted?
Fivestring63 replied to JPS's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I had a few too many to drink there one night and broke up a fight. It was 3 on 1 and he wasn't moving. So pretty unfair even if the lone guy started it. Luckily they didn't turn on me. There was a guy came up to me later and said he had my back if they did. Lol he was ex army and noticed my Marine Corps hat. -
This is gonna be my next gun. I've done a lot of research and am looking at the Pietta or Uberti in the 36 Cal. Conversion might be an option later on so looking at the steel frames. What size caps? #10 is what I've been seeing. Also what brand of powder? I'm new at this black powder stuff. Cabella seems to be a good source and also Dixie Guns here in Tennessee.

I'm sorry, I mean polygonal rifling. Hardly noticeable, but still there. One of my keepers.

I love mine. Very accurate for a smooth bore.

Veteran thrown out of Foothills Mall
Fivestring63 replied to Fivestring63's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Doesn't look good about FM apologizing. They now say he was asked to slow down. Not leave. Let me see who I'm going to believe. A combat wounded Master Sgt. with probably close to 20 years or a mall rent-a-cop? They can't even get uniforms to fit them properly. -

Question about the TICS process
Fivestring63 replied to pitt2magic's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
There are places for 3 gun purchases on one form. I'm not sure but I believe I've seen some place put 4 on one form. -
New gun owners and the range......watch your arse
Fivestring63 replied to Krull's topic in General Chat
I was at a range last year when a family was there with I believe was about an 10-12 yeqar old girl. By my observations, they all were pretty knowlegable till the girl locked and loaded her pistol in the bench area and walked to the firing line with the loaded gun, with the muzzle swung across the entire firing line. The parents were busy loading magazines and paid her no mind, i assume because they thought she was proficient enough to know what she was doing. I don't care how good you think your kid is, you don't let them handle loaded guns without proper supervision. -

For blues, there's the BB King Blues Club on 2nd Ave. just off the main strip. Something that weirded me out about the place though was that they have bathroom attendants. -
When standing your ground, how far should you go?
Fivestring63 replied to mcurrier's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Sorry about the double post. Another take on it is you can stand your ground where you're legally allowed to be, so who's to say it's not following him? -

Station inn is a cool place. I played there maybe 10 years ago and bought more souvenirs than the money I made. Lol -

Ask around where Jason link is playing. Excellent country singer and musician. -
Luckily, i had the guns i wanted already. When ammo prices start coming down, I'm not gonna be caught flatfooted again. I'm gonna stock up with what I want in case this happens again.

M1 Garand Shooting Far Left - How to fix?
Fivestring63 replied to lshel's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
I put a new barrel on mine and filed the barrel a little too much. He mentions that in the video but doesn't say how to correct it. I ended up putting a very thin metal washer on it cut to fit the barrel and had to file the barrel a little more to get the timing right and put some thread-lock on it. It worked like a charm and shoots straight. The hardest part was loosening the old barrel from the receiver. Thought I was gonna break something getting it off. -
I went to Walmart online and signed up for email notification when they get them in. What's strange though is they only showed a Sig. None of the other brand names.

M1 Garand Shooting Far Left - How to fix?
Fivestring63 replied to lshel's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Has the barrel been changed or is it the original? The barrel screws in and has to be timed just right or you're gonna be off. Here are some really good videos to check your timing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOfCH-XshEI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ZnC-OeWqpw -
Burglary possibly tied to gun owner map

Now maybe our law makers will finally pass a law stopping the Commercial Appeal from doing that here.
