  1. interesting findings, excerpted below:       Universal Background Checks: Shouldn’t We Review the Statistics? At least 13 states have enacted them, with no effect on murder rate.   "What troubles me about the current headlong rush towards a national universal background check requirement is how little attention we have paid to the thirteen states that have already performed the experiment. I have recently finished a detailed paper using interrupted time series analysis of the relationship between background check laws and murder rate. This article is something of an advance warning — and yes, was conducted because a vote was coming up in Congress (and which, who knows, may come up again). What startles from my paper’s findings is how ineffective those laws have been at what should be the most important measure: murder rate."   http://pjmedia.com/blog/universal-background-checks-shouldnt-we-review-the-statistics/?singlepage=true

  5. I agree. My wife & I are sending my father in law next year to see the Vietnam one because he's never been to d.c. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
  6. Great story here! Ed Martin is now 93 years old, and his baby brother, John Martin, is 91 from Smith County. ... The front porch view of rural Smith County has always been the life the Martin brothers lived - interrupted only once in 1942 by official U.S. Mail. http://www.wsmv.com/story/22198788/bulgers-beat-90-year-old-tn-brothers-wwii-veterans-visit

  8. Yup. As soon as I heard about this strain & the one the chinese scientists are trying to engineer my mind went a tumblin down the winning routes of the game. For reference... only greenland stands a shot of surviving lol Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
  9. I volunteer with several animal rescues locally. I don't recommend the SPCA, they solicit for donations but shelter after shelter never sees the money they claim to be raising. Cnn did a follow on this program & this director woman who was under investigation for her previous organization for katrina dogs in komifornia. http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/14/us/animal-charity-investigation 95% of service dogs are adopted by their handlers. There is a waiting list usually of 300+ people to adopt from Lackland air. Some are euthanized for health reasons. Robby's Law ~2000 made a lot of changes to service dog regs. Most all service dogs from the military are brought back & accounted for. She was promoting dogs from a contractor, that the contractor claims to have adopted to nearby countries. Overall, I've seen little benefit from the spca. Id recommend 'military working dog adoptions', 'save a vet', 'operation military k-9' or 'US war dogs association'. There are dogs in need but I think the spca & this program do little to help them. Sorry. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2

  11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x1Vu6fWro68   DISARMED: A History of Gun Control - Operation Paul Revere   Published on Apr 29, 2013 It's time to go beyond the media hype and emotional rhetoric. An Alex Jones http://www.InfoWars.com Paul Revere Production -- Because there's a war on for your mind! Created by producer Michael Termale (http://www.MichaelShaneMedia.com/) and Anthony Gucciardi (http://www.Storyleak.com/).  THE FILM DISARMED stands as a challenge to the mainstream media's manipulation and disinformation surrounding the 'gun control debate' -- an issue that is truly not about the control of guns, but people.  In a 31 blast of hard-hitting information, DISARMED is the ultimate information bomb for newcomers and veteran news followers alike. As detailed by news juggernaut Mike Adams of NaturalNews: "Disarmed is totally hard hitting, it is a 31 minute red pill for those who still cling to the concept of gun free zones and mass disarmament" - Mike Adams of NaturalNews DISARMED is 100% free online, and you are encouraged to send out this mind-seeking informational payload to friends, family, and strangers.  THE CREW DISARMED contains 100% original content created within the very short time frame of the InfoWars Operation Paul Revere Contest (http://www.InfoWars.com/contest/), and was created using the backbone team of established producer Mike Termale and host/journalist Anthony Gucciardi.  During the short time period of just under a few months, the film was filmed and completed with the two individuals working around the clock to finish up production, taking over 24 hours of interviews alone and compressing the dozens of film hours into a hard-hitting, compact info bomb.

  13. This poll is hogwash, disconcerting to some as it may be, comforting to some as it may be. If you could extrapolate it out even with a margin of error for multiplication, out of the entire populace some ~80million people believe this? Exit polling from '12 election (of a much larger sample size) showed 60+% believed cutting spending & reducing deficit was a top priority. Then they voted for obama who said he planned to increase spending. Those boisterous blowhards that would honstly answer this poll would be the first to piss themselves or hole up in their own bunker. How many of this supposed 29% are physically capable of participating. How many are sucking on the tit of big pharma right now? Taking more than 3 prescriptions/day? Really? How's that supply chain gonna work under martial law. Armed rebellion isn't a flash mob that scurries into every rat bolthole as soon as sirens are blaring. How many combat vets are here? How many times have you seen people WITH training lose the kibble when it went down the first time. Nahhh bra buncha armchair revolutionaries answered on this one sorry. You'd be lucky to see 5 million put their life on the line. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
  14. I don't loan out tools, computers, guns or vehicles. My father inlaw loaned out his truck to a neighbor recently & was a nervous trainwreck for the next 12 hrs because he knew they couldn't replace it. If you want to borrow a book, cd/dvd or cash that's fine. If its not returned at the agreed upon time & in same or better condition you won't get anything else loaned to you. I'm wary of loaning anything in general because I have learned the hard way that some people are just users & leeches in general. I don't loan anything I can't replace without minimal disruption. They lack consideration, respect and empathy. I don't associate with these drama queens because I'm not like them, don't have the patience for them & inevitably I end up as or more frustrated than the OP. I wouldn't count on dude gaining any wisdom or reflecting upon the transaction with honesty. More than likely he's rationalized how he's the victm and you're overwrought & sensitive. Don't be surprised if he asks to borrow something else. I obviously don't expect you to give but really don't be surprised when he does. That's just how certain people are. 15. Welcome RangerPaul. You can find some overview quick reference info about TN gun laws at: http://www.handgunlaw.us/states/tennessee.pdf You can review the Tennessee Code Annotated (TCA) at: http://www.lexisnexis.com/hottopics/tncode/ particularly..   State Reciprocity/How They Honor Other States Statute: 39-17-1351. State Fire arm Laws: 39-17-1301 thru 39-17-1361 State Deadly Force Laws: 39-11-611   It's important to understand that possession outside of the home of a firearm in TN is generally speaking Illegal as worded in law, a HCP provides exception for many places. These statutes above outline the defense by which you are provided immunity from being prosecuted. This is an often forgotten or misunderstood point but highly important especially if you are trying to interpret some part that is not specifically enumerated in the code.   39-17-1308.  Defenses to unlawful possession or carrying of a weapon.    (a) It is a defense to the application of § 39-17-1307 if the possession or carrying was:    (1) Of an unloaded rifle, shotgun or handgun not concealed on or about the person and the ammunition for the weapon was not in the immediate vicinity of the person or weapon;   If your handgun is in the glovebox unloaded and you have ammo stored in a range bag or grocery bag you are legal provided you have no other legal preclusions from possessing a firearm (i.e. convictions). And that you are not traveling with the firearm in an 'off-limit' place (i.e. school grounds) during your trip.   Hope that helps and feel free to ask if you are still unsure. Go get your HCP!
  16. My every day used to consist of driving 90-105 burnin up lanes, gas & tires. My last ticket in '07 was 91 in a 70. I had just slowed because I was lighting my cigarette with 1 hand & my other was holding my coffee. I reprioritized after that. I haven't broke 80 in a year & a half. Last job had me driving 250 miles a day around mid tn. I've got stories for days on these morons but I drive at or 3mph over nowadays. With my expensive radar detector I can't count the number of tickets I haven't gotten from ol hidey-in-the-bushes officers because I'm not speeding. And driving around in the middle of the night, you could almost think me a hippy from all the deer I've saved by not speeding. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
  17. Welcome. You can buy range passes for Cheatham at any place that sells hunting/fishing licenses. Grumpy's market is right near the entrance to the range. Smiley's market is back NE on the way from ashland city about 2-3 miles from Grumpy's, I believe they only take cash for the passes tho. Noon - dark at cheatham. 18. I made the grave mistake of uploading my resume to monster during a job search. Subsequently, I received on average 2-3 calls daily from insurance company recruiters. Generally I am polite and once I have verified they are calling from Xyz insurance that they rattle off I inform them that I appreciated their inquiry but that I don't presently desire to work in that industry and that they may remove my name from consideration. I had a woman call the other morning saying "blah, blah, blah I would like to axe you when would be a good time to set up an interview so one of our human resource specialists can axe you some more questions..." My vision went slightly red and my left eye twitched vigorously and I could trust myself to say nothing polite and immediately hung up. I Never hang up on live callers. I Always inform them politely of my disinterest and desire not to be called again. However, it was just too much cruel irony. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
  19. "To be honest with you" as in everything else I said was a lie I HATE this phrase so,so,so much & a friend of mine used to say about every 30mins when he was selling. Every time my wife says it I just scream 'Delete!' Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
  20. Nail on the head, it's inevitable. And just as soon as Art Bell's Quickening comes rolling down the horizon and modern civilization as we know it collapses, those few. Those phoenix spirits. Will arise. Dust themselves off and take charge of those still too stunned by the loss. Rebuilding will be slow, will be fraught with peril & will need people of great moral strength & character. That's why we fight & prepare now, so that if it is not us & we are not fortune enough to spare those who come after us from the tribulations of destruction; we may at least preserve the ways & lay the trail for them to return home to the spirit of what this country did once represent to so many in despair with nothing else to hope for except the chance to be here, to be free & to have the opportunity to raise a family, start a business & find someone to love without the risk of tyranny & chaos where they were. 21. You're crazy. Actually, I don't know anyone that does that. Just part of the reason I'm happy to not talk to people as much as possible. Most people have rudimentary understanding of the english language's rules but can tell you every year of draft/trade for every player on their favorite team. Words are power & knowledge is more valuable than gold. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2

  23. OP: we got the memo back in feb. It is on http://www.nraila.org/media/10883516/nij-gun-policy-memo.pdf and was redalerted on drudge with articles in wash times/huffpo/nationalreview/dailykos/blaze etc. All of which will as you can see from the above responses garner a more credible thread dialogue than infowars or sites that source infowars. There should be a thread here on tgo somewhere I'm sure, I don't think we would have missed that en masse. Sent from my SPH-D700 using Tapatalk 2
  24. I saw this yesterday about the impregnated guards & the corruption run rampant. Reminded me of 'get the gringo' w/mel gibson. Just ridiculous. Ought to have them on bicycles generating cheap electricity for people with guards whippin the slackers. I don't give a damn about prisoner rights. They're forfeit by their actions. More than just elections have consequences. We need to privatize & immunize the corporations running prisons from lawsuits. There is no deterrence in our penal system. There is no 'hard time' anymore. Chains, shackles & sadistic guards aye yup. No visits either. What the heck are we doing with all that desert in nevada, arizona, new mexico now anyways? Fixes prisons. Fixes laxity of attention in legal proceedings, real consequences, you better sit up, pay attention and get your facts straight. Fixes the lack of fear in street criminals.
