I would recommend you sell half your ammo and buy a cheap ria to make sure you like the platform before you dive in head first. Also don't forget to join up as a benefactor so you can sell in the classifieds section.

I dont know why anyone would buy russian steel ammo at $9.00 a box when you can find brass cased fiocchi and other brands all day long online at $10 per box. Now if that Steel crap was $6.00 i could understand.

I have found the worst thing you can do is say im never gonna sell this....it always ends up getting sold....the only exception for me has been my Sig P220 Sport

It's worth a trip to use that awesome range...just remember full metal jacket only. I thought they had a good selection of guns but that was 6 mos ago.

thanks Jeff....so far I have actually liked the fit and finish on them better then any of my spikes lowers(all the spikes had holes not quite lined properly and a lot of machining marks)

If i had a full auto AR I would buy one in a heartbeat just do mag dump the f'er....however I don't and have no desire to put that much weight on my already fat gun. I think for a 3gun guy or anyone with a fully it would be worthwhile though.

Since I couldnt seem to find much info here are the main differences I noticed so far: Spikes Nickel Boron Bolt Carrier Group: $225 All Mil Spec HPT/MPI Viton O-ring Mil Spec Extractor Spring Longer(mil-spec) extractor pin Rguns $150 Non-Milspec(or would that be run of the mil?) No HPT or MPI No O-ring on extractor Extractor spring plain bronze spring(quite weak too..chucked that pos) Almost too short Extractor pin(not sure if this is the correct term...holds extractor in place) Both do use the black extractor insert. The Rguns does have a happy face on it which is kinda funny/different I have ran close to 400rds through the Spikes BCG and its definitely gtg...havent tried the Rguns yet...bout to head to ORSA and do that. I didnt have an extra viton o-ring for the Rguns, but I did replace its extractor spring with a Wolff extra power one...so we will see what she does. If it runs as good as the Spikes its probably a worthwhile alternative for the non-hardcore when you figure in the $75.00 savings.

For trigger and hammer I recommend the spikes tactical trigger it comes with a nib trigger and hammer. Joeboboutfitters has the best price on it at approx $55. Best price on a nib bcg complete is the rguns on aimsurplus for about $150 I have it and the spikes and can't tell much difference...however they do recommend doing the extractor upgrade...spring and o-ring. Hope that helps.

I actually enjoy the show, though i am tired about hearing how "this or that is gonna change the market"...the ak sniper was a pretty dumb idea when there is a perfectly good russian sniper rifle readily available....however the section with Jerry Miculek was freaking awesome and I could watch it repeatedly. Overall its a good show and I wish Flem would build me an MG42 I could own lol. I hope they don't try to dramatize it anymore than they already have....either way it will tide me over til "the Walking Dead".
